Philip and Chloe (Read 89,183 times)

This is a tribute to my all-time favorite Days couple.

Not since Bo and Hope has a couple had so much supercouple potential, but unlike Bo and Hope, it seems they were not meant to be. Star-crossed in the true sense of the word.

Their teen love story was the best teen story ever told on Days, in my opinion. It had so many great elements and so much realistic teenage angst. Boy meets girl. Boy hates girl. Boy loves girl. Boy loses girl.

Days took great pains to create a fully fleshed out love story for them. When you look back at their early days, there was truly a courtship. They went to the movies, ice skating, dances, the beach. Philip carved their initials on a tree and promised to always love Chloe. When she was had leukemia, he stayed by her side, and continues to support her today, in sickness and in health. He even saved her life.

Neither Philip or Chloe was always likeable, and yet I always rooted for them. They hurt each other, as teenagers often do. They both had dysfunctional childhoods and yet, they turned out okay.

Their chemistry sizzled then and still does. Anytime they have scenes together, you can feel the depth of their history. Plus they are so beautiful and their love scenes are torrid. I, for one, never got tired of watching the one-night stand flashbacks.

God I love this couple. Thank you Days for giving them a child together, a child that will tie them together for all time. Even if we never get to have them as a bonafide couple, at least we’ll always have Parker.

Also ironic is both actors had left the show and came back. .DOOL really missed the boat with this couple... Maybe someday they will be back together again. If it happened twice it can happen a third time.

Now that my favorite couple are over and they tied that up well,I can honestly say that I'd go for Philip/Chloe IF Jay stuck around.I said in another thread that it wouldn't be the same without the original actors,so for right now.I really don't want them.IF Jay were to come back,and there was no hope for Philip and Mel,I'd be all for Philip and Chloe.They had a great love story as teens,I admit,I was one of the original "Phloes"lol.

Well, honestly, through tomatoes, because next to Kayla's daughter, Chloe has become one the most annoying characters. And as much as I love Mel, she has been pushing it for me too. Maybe with all this drama stuff put behind for Chloe, she can once again become a good match for Phil who I love.

I think Chloe will grow from this experience and from being a mother. She needs to get her opera career back so she can feel even more important.

I really liked Philip and Chloe together with Parker. I was so touched when Philip told her she would always be a part of Parker's life.

Philip and Chloe are one of my all time favorite soap opera couples ever besides Frisco and Felicia from General Hospital. Unfortunately neither of these couples have ever stood a chance to find happiness on their soaps because as soon as something good happened for the couples, one of the actors decided to leave their show. I have never seen two actors who have shared so much on screen chemistry the way Jay and Nadia do. They are so at ease with each other in their scenes and their scenes come out so natural like they aren't even really acting but just hanging out in real life.

Ever since Philip and Chloe first appeared on screen at the end of 1999, they have been written as one of the most in love couples I have ever seen on a soap opera. They have all the makings to be a great supercouple if days was still writing couples that way. They could have easily have been the next Bo and Hope of the younger generation if Jay would have decided to stay with the show and allowed their love story to play out.

One of my favorite things about them is that they didn't really like each other too much at first but they learned to love each other after they took the time to see the good in each other and to really get to know each other. Neither one of them has had a chance to live a picture perfect life and both of them are extremely flawed which makes it easier for them to not judge each other when one of them does something wrong. Also neither of them had a really good family life while growing up so it makes it easier for them to want to provide a good family life to their son Parker. No matter what happens in their lives they have always maintained their friendship even after one of them hurt the other. I love the way they support each other whenever one of them is going through a rough time in their lives. They are the perfect soap couple because no matter what direction their lives may take them they end up finding their way back to each other. Also they know each other better than they know themselves.
