Thanksgiving is consuming my life right now. We're having 14 people over, the most ever, and we have to set up two tables for eating, plus my appetizer table. Spending all my free time, which there's not much of, prepping the house.
How about everyone else? Hosting? Guesting? Restauranting?

There is no thanksgiving in Ireland But prior to living here I celebrated in October For Canadian thanks giving Oddly enough we do Black Friday over here but it’s not as good Stores just give 20% off and say it’s for Black Friday and no one argues cuz it’s a deal we wouldn’t have got other wise lol

We will be with my in-laws on Thanksgiving and then spend Friday with my Dad, stepmom and Aunt. We usually do pizza at the Friday get together. Good luck with your Thanksgiving preparations Kpatch.

We are going to my sister's if the weather cooperates. I always have the fixings for dinner at home if I need a back up plan.

Thanksgiving is a big deal for my parents. We always have a ton of family over and my mom starts cooking at the beginning of November. When I was little we would have a second day of it on Friday with my grandparents and some aunts and uncles on my mom's side but sadly most of those have passed on.
This year we will have my sister, husband and the quads, my cousin, her husband, and their two kids, and my aunt and uncle. I'm not sure if my brother and his girlfriend are coming this year but he often comes Thanksgiving. The next day we will be going to my sister's to help with putting up her tree, which has become our new post-Thanksgiving tradition.
I will be making a noodle pudding as I do every year. No class the day before Thanksgiving so I plan to make it home early.

I miss my family on holidays since most of them live in South Carolina.

I miss my family too. Everyone who comes over is friends, but they've become our surrogate family.

Me too. My mom carried on the tradition and then, respectfully, broke it by moving way the heck out of town! Locally, it's a very small bit of my family, the rest are scattered around the good ole U.S. of A.
For some reason I'm thinking about this song: (I hope you don't mind) Although not the original version video, it is the song so, if you click and close your eyes...

Thanksgiving has been oddly crazy for us. Growing up with divorced parents, we always had Thanksgiving dinner twice - once with my mom and her parents and then once with my dad and his parents.
Then when I got married, it became 4 different dinners. Right after the divorce, it was 3 and now sometimes it's only 2. My in-laws did try to do things separate with me because they knew I wouldn't attend with the ex there. Now it's a small thing but we usually do something together. Of course we still do separate celebrations with my mom and dad. My sister wants to combine theirs into one to make it easier on her, but she doesn't understand not wanting to sit down at a table with an ex. LOL. I totally get how my dad would feel and tell her no. She says it's stupid to keep our parents' celebrations separate (she only throws a fit because its an inconvenience for her). I brought up how many she goes to for his family and said it's no different.....or the fact that she misses all of the family get-togethers when my brother-in-law is out of town for work and her and my nephew travel to spend it with him. I've had 4 or more to go to as well and yes, it does get tiring, but it's what we have to do to keep the peace.

Entertaining is expensive. I spent like three weeks worth of grocery money for one day's worth of eating.
