What new or returning shows are you excited to watch? Is there a new show you're curious about?
I'm anxious to watch the season premiere of Chicago Fire this week.

Oh my goodness! There are way too many!
Let's start with the returning series: Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Once Upon a Time, Will & Grace and The Walking Dead.
New series that have already started: The Orville - After watching the first few episodes, I think this series is pretty good. It's very much a parody of Star Trek, complete with hammy acting. Think Star Trek if it were supposed to be over the top and funny.
Upcoming series: The Good Doctor - I loved Freddie Highmore in Bates Motel, and am looking to see how he does in this, especially since it's written by the writer of one of my favorite series, House. The Gifted - A series based on X-Men, I'm interested to see how they bring some of these characters to life. Law & Order: True Crime, The Menendez Murders - The first of Law & Order: True Crime. I'm so looking forward to seeing how this plays out, and how closely the actors are to their real life counterparts. Star Trek: Discovery - I'm a bit of a Trekkie, so it'll be interesting to see how this prequel plays out.

I’ll give my full thoughts later, but so far all the shows I listed above (and including Riverdale, which I can’t believe I forgot!) have all been really good! The Orville and The Good Doctor, in particular, are quite enjoyable.

I've been watching 10 Days in the Valley on Sunday nights. It's a suspense/mystery show with Kyra Sedgwick as an overworked script writer whose daughter disappears one night while she is in the shed across the yard working on revisions to a script. Lots of twists and turns and a really good cast!
I also really like Riverdale, the Good Doctor, Madam Secretary, and Blue Bloods, and I'm looking forward to Major Crimes starting what will unfortunately be its final season on TNT on Halloween. (From what I read the show was cancelled despite getting some of the highest ratings for the network because it is not popular with younger viewers. Grr.)

Returning shows:Criminal Minds Blue Bloods Major Crimes (final season ) Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (I tolerate this for hubby) Madam Secretary (I was crushed that Nadine has left) The Librarians (not sure when it's coming back) Shades of Blue (again not sure when it comes back) Timeless (cancelled then uncancelled LOL) The Good Place (my guilty pleasure) Designated Survivor Lethal Weapon (another guilty pleasure) New Shows: (like I need more shows on DVR!) The Good Doctor André DiMera , I've been resisting The Orville simply because, as evidenced above, I have way too many shows on my list. But the idea of it is oh so tempting to me. Especially since I already feel that the original series was "over the top and funny" and that's a big part of why I love it so much. heroicmuse , I was shocked to see that this will be the end of Major Crimes. I thought they were doing so good with covering the demographics! Because honestly, the majority of the cast is 50+ and yet they cancel it because the under 35 group doesn't like it? Stupid! I really get so frustrated that so many of my favorite shows are canceled simply because the young viewers aren't watching. The TV show makers and advertisers have their eyes closed to the fact that the demographic balance has shifted. Please call me out if you think I am wrong about this, I love to learn. These days the group that has the most discretionary income is the 45-54 age group. I'm outside, northerly, of that group but I consider my appreciation of the arts to be broader than my group.

UhSir I feel exactly the same way. I've been sulking since Major Crimes was cancelled. It was TNT's second highest rated show and IMO canceling it just because it wasn't popular with younger viewers is shooting themselves in the foot. Surely there are advertising dollars to be spent on products targeted to older viewers? Everything can't be a CW show aimed towards the younger set. I like those shows too but the TV landscape is going to be boring if that's all there is.

Well, *wipes tears* I just watched the final episode of Major Crimes. When Provenza cracked just that little bit at the end, I lost it. I am really going to miss this show and the wonderful group of people on it.

I am really going to miss this show and the wonderful group of people on it. Me too. It was hard for me to write my review because I was crying too hard. Here it is. Today or tomorrow I'm also going to be writing one last slideshow about the ending. www.tvfanatic.com/2018/01/major-crimes-season-6-episode-13-review-by-any-means-part-4/

Okay, I'm very upset about The Librarians killing Jenkins. John Larroquette is my rock for this show! If he's really going to be gone I don't know if I'll keep watching. I like all of the other characters/actors and the ensemble makes the show perfect, but that includes Jenkins!

So The Librarians have been let go. The last I read is they're trying to find a new home. Shades of Blue is back for it's "Final Season" and so far so good. Hubby and I just realized how much this show is like The Sopranos, just from the other side, sort of.

I have been watching “Instinct”. It is pretty good and I love Alan Cummings. I have BritBox so I can watch British mysteries which are SO much better than similar US programs. My PBS station has started showing a new season of “Endeavor” on Masterpiece Theatre. Love, love.
