One thing jumps out at me - we're assuming that the lunch Marlene had with that "someone" was a public lunch. Who's to say they didn't have a private meal at someone's house? We know she had lunch with that Ian guy, but maybe Bryan (I almost typed Lucas, LOL) came over to her house, or vice versa.
I would LOVE to see Lucas come back. I think Lumi is far more interesting than Safe, and Lucas understands Sami on such a deeper level. More so than Rafe ever could.
And Bryan is smoking hot!!!

The signs are definitely pointing more and more toward BD/Lucas coming back in 2012. Earlier today there was another tweet from Marlene that said
May 2012 - LH
This was on twitter earlier in the day and now all of a sudden the tweet was removed which means that it was probably something that Marlene didn't mean to put on twitter and instead was just meant to be a note for herself. I still am not saying that he is definitely going to be coming back but it is really looking good that he will be back by May of 2012. Seriously LH has to stand for Lucas Horton since there has been so much talk on twitter about everyone wanting him back.

That is VERY interesting. My hopes are being raised more and more but I cannot stand Safe until May 2012. Are you kidding me? Snoozefest. Wake me when it's over. I just want something more for Rafe. He is oh-so-boring.  |

It looks like the groundwork is already being laid for Safe's end GG. I don't think you'll have to wait for May for that. I think Austin is next on the list, which I will enjoy not because I want another round of Saustin but because Sami has already chosen Lucas over Austin. Not only does that make Rafe 3rd place but I would prefer scenes between Patrick and Bryan upon Lucas' return to more airtime for Galen (I still don't like his acting). Austin is the closer substitute for Lucas, which is what I believe her whole relationship with Rafe has been about (and it was definitely Tomlin's plan but like all of Tomlin's plans it failed) so it makes sense to me that Sami would go after Austin again once he is back in town and Lucas is still away.
I want Lucas back and even though I wanted different changes than the ones TPTB made initially, I can appreciate that they couldn't do everything all at once that they have in mind longterm. I want Lucas/Bryan to have good material when he returns so it's worth waiting a bit longer for TPTB to prepare it well. I'm not sure what to think about the LH tweet but for some reason I don't feel like that one was about Lucas. It could have meant something not even related to the show and she may have deleted it not to confuse anyone. However, I know that Meng is also a fan of Bryan/Lucas in addition to the headwriters and have no doubt he will be back - the only question is how soon.

@kazz, I am not sure where you see the end of Safe and Sami wanting Austin. I for one don't see this at all. I realize Safe has a challenge coming up but this could just be about a marriage and growing pains. Safe would be extremely broing if they were happy, lovey dovey all the time. A real marriage has its problems. Sami has grown-up since her crush on Austin including being a mother. I am really hoping you are wrong on this matter as it is the same-old schtick, here we go again.
I agree on the Lucas return. Bring him back at the right time & right storyline.

I don't see them pairing Sami with Austin again either. That ship has sailed so long ago and I think they know most don't want to see it again.
I would love to have Lucas back. He is one of my all time favorites, but I'm torn because I like Sami and Rafe together. But I was always a huge Lumi fan too.

I'm pretty sure that he will come between Sami and Rafe, but I don't think it will culminate in an actual affair. That's too predictable. Maybe a suspiscion of something, but not an actual affair.

It may not become a full out affair (meaning they may not sleep together) but they are already showing Sami keeping things from Rafe and acting weird about kissing him in front of Austin. We know from spoilers that tensions will continue to grow between them and that Caustin will be having problems as well. I think they are going to have Sami and Austin on the same side of the John issue and Carrie siding with Rafe; Sami trusting in Austin and sharing things with him that she doesn't with Rafe; Sami & Austin spending more time together while Rafe and Carrie get closer, sexual tension and "feelings" enough for a break up regardless of whether they sleep together or not.

I like the idea of Rafe and Carrie together, but not Austin and Sami. I think Carafe (isn't that something you drink out of?) could be interesting. Two boring people that ride off into the boring sunset.......

I wouldn't expect any of it to last long... I fully expect Caustin to reunite and for Lucas to return... in the meantime I think Saustin scenes would be more intersting than Safe but that's just me.
