As per a report from Jason 47, James Lastovic (Joey) to depart.
As has been rumored since late March, James Lastovic (Joey) will be departing "Days of Our Lives" this summer. Rumors began swirling on March 22 (the same day Lastovic was nominated for a Daytime Emmy, and the time frame for when his original two-year contract ended), when a tweet from a relative of Lastovic's mentioned he had not been renewed. In an Emmy interview with Soap Central, Lastovic mentioned that on the day of the Emmy nominations (March 22), he "had just finished doing some pretty emotional scenes, so I went to my dressing room and collected myself a little bit." Look for Lastovic to last air in August.

I wonder if Joey will confess to Tripp before his exit. I'm guessing that the character will be recast and return to Salem at some point.

fluffysmom, or maybe we will see Joey once a year at Christmastime like when he was a little boy. I am thinking the emotional scenes mentioned probably have to do with the truth coming out maybe to Tripp.

I wonder if we will be able to tell that those scenes were emotional. Sorry, I couldn't resist. He's so wooden. Good luck to him but really glad that I won't have to be subjected to such horrible acting. We deserve better.
