I'm sure I can't be the only one on here who loves the Beatles.
I was thinking about them today, because today is the 50th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which, in my opinion, is one of their best (if not their best) album. Does anyone have a favorite song from Sgt. Pepper? Mine is A Day in the Life. It's so beautiful!

Thanks, sportsgirl! That's a good one! Sadly, because of Apple Records, it's very hard to find a Beatles song on YouTube unless they posted it.

My 13 year old Monica loves the Beatles. She has several CD'S. She really likes the entire Sargeant Pepper album. Some of her favorite songs are All you need is Love and With a little help from my friends.
I like the song Come Together.

That is impressive fluffysmom. Does she like any older music too? Monica listens to mostly 70's and 80's music. Some of her favorite artists are Elton John, Paul Davis, the Eagles, and Billy Joel. She also listens to 80's rock bands including the Scorpions, Bon Jovi, and Cinderella.

Well, I never thought I’d be able to say this, but…there’s a new Beatles song! In 2023, when half of them are gone, there is a new song by the Beatles. I never thought there’d be a new Beatles song in my lifetime!
First, a bit of backstory. In the mid-1990s, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr were working on the Anthology project (a set of 3 albums, a documentary, and a coffee table book). Yoko Ono gave them a pair of cassette tapes of songs John Lennon had been working on in the years before his death but never finished. Two of the songs, “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love” made it into Anthology, with the remaining Beatles finishing the songs. Another, “Grow Old with Me”, was finished by Yoko herself for the album Milk and Honey. But there was a fourth song. Unfortunately, the fourth song proved too difficult to finish with the technology of the 1990s. John’s voice was mostly hidden, any attempts to make it louder also made the piano louder, and there was a noticeable buzzing noise in the background. The fourth song was shelved, though George did record some guitar parts for it.
In the early 2020s, filmmaker Peter Jackson was working on the mammoth sized documentary Get Back. While working on it, he showed Paul and Ringo a piece of technology that could isolate the different parts of a song (vocals, guitar, piano, strings, etc.), enhance them each separately through machine learning, then put them back together. After Get Back was released, Paul asked if he could do the same for the unfinished song mentioned earlier. With Jackson’s help, John’s vocals were enhanced, the buzzing noise gotten rid of, and the sound overall polished. Next, George’s guitar parts were added. Paul recorded some backing vocals and bass, and Ringo added some drums. At long last, they had finished the song!
That song is “Now and Then”.
