Trying to decide which name is better for a leading man in my next novel. Robert or Adam. Please help me decide.

I am a bit prejudiced. My nephew is an Adam and he was a very troubled youth. Hard to think of that name as a leading man for me.

I prefer the name Adam. However it depends on which you think fits the character's personality or issues better. Sometimes I look at name meanings to help me decide because I like to be all symbolic in my writing. Lol

I chose Robert One cuz of a jerk named Adam that was absolutely awful and it puts me off the name unless it was the villain and two Robert is a nice name that can also be abbreviated by other characters who are closer to him Just a thought

Of the two, I chose Adam. Though, as heroicmuse states, the nature of the character himself might change my views on which name is best - the other name may "fit" the character better.

I chose the name Adam. I know a couple of pretty decent guys named Adam. One is the leader at Scouts and is in the Air Force. He would do anything he could to help someone in need.
On the flip side, I also know an Adam that I don't care for at all....the name doesn't really fit him anyway so I don't hold that against the name. LOL
But I agree with the others. Depending personality of character would determine which name I like better for the story.
