Maybe it is only short term? We don't really know do we? He could be the ghost of Will as we already had the ghosts of Daniel & Stefano. I see absolutely no way they can undo his death! Now if he plays a completely different character, then maybe after that has been done by a few actors.

I'm curious to see how Will's return is written. There have been rumors about his return for awhile. I'm wondering if they're going to make it somehow that all of Guy Wilson's version of Will was not the real Will, since they have Chandler Massey back. Certainly the Will that blackmailed Paul was not acting like the Will I knew. I thought about that too. Will underwent a personality change when Guy Wilson took over. Since they are bringing him back, I'm glad it's Chandler. I hated Guy Wilson's version of Will. Are we sure Will is coming back from the dead? Maybe Sami and/or some of the other characters will talk to his ghost. It's not unheard of on this show.

I agree wendylou - The character took on a huge overhaul when Guy took over the role. One could argue maybe he was a Dimera plant and the real Will was captive somewhere.

As a huge fan of Chandler's Will, I am beyond ecstatic for his return!! I didn't like Guy in the role or where they took the character toward the end, but I still hated that the show killed him off. I've been glad to see Sonny and Paul getting closer, but this will definitely be complicated for all three. They should just be a throuple.

I much preferred Guy Wilson's grown up version of Will (with the exception of the stuff in the aftermath of the affair reveal where the writers made him too much of a jerk) but I like Chandler a lot and the most important thing is that Will is back after a mean-spirited and unnecessary end.
Guy Wilson was so gracious about Chandler's return and the vicious bullying he endured with such dignity is a great credit to him. Chandler was great at teen Will, and I hope he'll be able to play an adult version.
It's very good news.

I'm glad his fans are happy, but for me this seems like a desperate stunt. If you make a list of the current cast, there are enough people there to write an interesting soap opera. You don't need to bring people back who were killed onscreen. Some of the new ones were put there to replace the ones that Ben killed. They'll have to be fired now to keep the cast a manageable size. And with the focus on Sami and Will, that will leave everyone else's storylines in the dust. Steve and Kayla, John and Marlena, Adrienne and Justin, Chad and Abby, and anyone else in Salem are all going to take a back seat now. And I thought the new writer would be improving Days. NOT! And PS, giving this news four months in advance ruins any shocking impact it might have had. There is officially zero reason to watch anymore when it's all announced months before it airs. I'll be fine if Will coming back is temporary, as a ghost. Please let it be that. It's just that speculation about his return is overshadowing the actual current storylines and cast and making it seem like they don't matter. I don't approve of this attitude. "It was a mistake killing him off." Yes, but it was a mistake killing off Bo, Jack, and other central characters too. This show has become a parody of a soap opera with its reliance on bringing people back from the dead. Let's just bring them all back. Why choose only one? I feel for the current cast who are going to be tossed out of the spotlight after all their hard work. I can imagine how hurt they are going to be. I think it is a stunt. There are rumors of cancelation and they were getting very very loud, and suddenly they leak Sami's return. The show pulls an under 2 million day the first week of sweeps and they announce Chandler's return. I remember when they announced Daniel Cosgrove's return as Aiden and his fans went bonkers and cheered happily only to see the character tossed aside again. I doubt that will happen to Chandler, but I also don't know if the old Wilson 1.0 magic can be recreated. The killings of Will and Paige were particularly mean and I would like to see Paige return as well - there was a homophobia and misogyny written into it that disgusted me. I'm glad Will is returning (and would have even taken a recast to make it happen) but it is a ploy for ratings, as was his killing. I was never much of an EJ fan but I also thought killing him off was a mean-spirited kick in the teeth to Ejami shippers when there was an opportunity to send them off into the sunset. Same with Wilson. The trick failed both times. I want the show to succeed, but it has been mismanaged for awhile now and stunts won't raise the ratings - good stories will.

I think Chandler will return from LA. The other Will was a substitute for him. Although I do like the ideal of him being a long lost twin of Sami's.
