Arianne had left Days once before, thus the affair with Roman & Pookie was born LOL... Yes, she is huge but perhaps she will come back yet again? I wonder how this will play out on the show. I cannot see a recast for Nicole.

I'd leave too
I wish her the best, she's truely talented and deserves better writing than they are capable of giving her

That's my guess too, that the horrible writing made her decision.
I won't miss Nicole. She's okay but not a favorite. She is more interesting than most and with her and Deimos heading off canvas, that leaves too much air time on the Dimera side.

This is weird to me for two reasons, one, I was just thinking about she is one of the few actors on the show who never leaves, and two, Ken Corday just said that the new writing was going to focus on Brady, Nicole, Eric and Chloe didn't he? Maybe he meant just for the next few months? Hmm.
I like Nicole and I think Ari is a great actress but she's not one of my favorites either. I'm okay with a little break. She may be back some day. Most of them seem to come and go. I'm so interested to see what her exit story will be.

1998–2006, 2008–present..From IMDB.com Last time she left wasn't very long. She could also make mini-visits such as actors from the past have done recently, unless they decide to recast.

I've always invested in the character, not the the actor. If they move on, who cares, I don't, re-cast. A long time ago one of the favorite characters, Bo Brady was re-cast and the new Bo Brady was the same as the old Bo Brady to me. Hell, there has been 6 Jack's and they all suck. Of course I don't like that character.

It sounds like Shawn Christian (Daniel) leaving the show was part of her decision to leave.
