I fear the masquerade ball will be cheesy. They don't do balls like they used to. Remember the European ball where Victor got shot? Not really interested in seeing Chad and Gabi holed up together just for the sake of intesifying the triangle. Bleh. I feel like they're setting up a Nicole and Brady romance once she figures out Deimos is dangerous. That way, she can have Daniel's child, Daniel's heart and they can raise Tate and Holly together. It does seem like Brady and Nicole might get closer but then...why is Eric returning? I assumed he was returning for Nicole. I've read speculation that she and Brady will be more of a short-term rebound before getting back together with Eric. Who knows with this show?
I know lots of people want Ericole and maybe I do but I'm kind of interested in seeing whether Eric and Chloe have any chemistry. I think Chloe is turning into the outcast that Eric feels he is.
I think you may be right about the ball being cheesy. The sets on this show are so claustrophobic.
Chad and Gabi? I read that she will have to "tend to his wounds" while their kidnapped together. Of course.

Remember the big fundraiser that Hope and Aiden spearheaded and all we saw was one unimpressive room (the room where they danced for the first time)? That's what I'd expect. The ball will occur in an unseen room, and we'll see our Salemites huddle in a foyer to debrief. SaveSave |

Yeah, they just don’t do balls, weddings, or any big event the way they used to. I get it. They have serious budget constraints, but that means I don’t look forward to these big events the way I used to.
I’m not sure what to hope for with Nicole. I’d be fine if she were single and focused on her child, but I doubt that will happen. I like her and Brady as friends more than lovers, but I’ll roll with it if they’re headed that way. Both characters have been through a lot, been there for one another, and have even more in common because of it.
I also don’t know what to hope for with Eric. I love the actor but the character can get maudlin. I always found he and Nicole the most interesting, but at this point I’m open to anything.
I used to LOVE Chad and Abigail but I feel like bringing her back from the dead and into a triangle, coupled with the recast, has stolen all the chemistry they used to have. I thought Gabi and Chad had potential, but I really like Chad most of all, so I just wish they’d pick a couple and stick with it.

Ugh! I'm not sure I can stomach that. I can't stand Dario and Abigail is not far off from being on that list.

I'm not happy about Chloe digging her heels in BUT the spoiler about Deimos wanting to prove to Nicole that he's the only man for her makes me think he is getting insecure and will start to show his true colors to Nicole.

Jason47 posted on his Facebook page that Joe Mascolo filmed some scenes prior to his death in December. He said his last air date is February 9 which means we will be seeing him this week.

Very curious to see how this goes. It's amazing if he was able to come back and shoot with his Alzheimer's so advanced. It'll be great to see him one more time.
