The scene where Deimos proposed and just had to have a ring for Nicole right away got me thinking.
Those of you who have been proposed to or done the proposing ...
Was a ring offered during the proposal, or did you go ring shopping together? Or did they coerce you into choosing a ring on the spot like Deimos did? LOL to the last choice.

My sister waited forever for her proposal. Her husband-to-be went ring shopping to pick out a ring for her, didn't like any of them and decided to have a ring custom made for her and it took forever for it to be made. He didn't want to propose until he had a ring. Most of our family had given up and there were some whispered conversations about whether he was ever going to propose or how long she was going to put up with him not proposing.
My brother got a family heirloom from both his family's and his girlfriend's and had them melded into a new ring. Sadly, his marriage didn't last but I still think it's a nice idea.

I received a ring during the proposal. I knew a proposal was probably going to happen several months down the road. I was very surprised when it happened much sooner than expected.

My husband had the ring when he proposed and I was happier than a pig in dung
He planned the whole proposal and it was beautiful and heartfelt
