PHILIP’S CAR
It was well before sunup, but Philip needed to leave. He didn’t like spending the entire night with Morgan and waking up to her Spanish inquisition, but he didn’t want to be a total jerk about it either.
His arrangement with Morgan reminded him of the women he knew in the Marines. Even though there weren’t many women in the Corps during Philip’s tour of duty, they were always ready for “action.” Philip was never without company when he wanted some, and the relationship was always understood. They lived and loved in the moment and then moved on. Nothing romantic, nothing emotional, nothing complicated. Just sex. It was easy, fun, and fleeting, just the way Philip liked it. But that kind of interaction was harder to come by in civilian life. Morgan was the closest thing he had found to a no-strings relationship, but even she was getting that look in her eye that told Philip she wanted more ... more than he could give her or maybe give to any woman.
Philip’s mind wandered and he thought about the last time he was a one-woman man. That was one woman who knew how to keep Philip in line. Good times. He dials a number on his cell phone and listens for an answer. He gets voicemail and he almost hangs up but decides, perhaps against his better judgment, to leave a message.
Philip: Belle? It’s me, Philip. I ... I’ve been thinking about you lately. A lot. I ... I need to see you, Belle. Call me and tell me where you are. I need to see you and I’ll come to wherever you are. Just call me.
As he hung up, he immediately regretted sounding so ... so hung up on her. He can’t believe he rambled like that, but once he heard her voice again, he was a goner and found himself feeling weak in the knees.

Hold it. That was such a short chapter for a Friday. Hint Hint LOL. Loved the chapter. I think Philip and Belle would make a great couple if Belle and Shawn are over. I would also like Mel and Philip. Previews for the next week please with lots of almond joys.

Weekend previews? Absolutely. Hold it. That was such a short chapter for a Friday. Hint Hint LOL. The chapter only looks short. It's actually quite a bit longer than usual in terms of word count. It just takes up less vertical space than dialogue. JKJPatch: Okay kpatch, now you are getting too technical. Kpatch: Oh shut up. |
