Love Games-12
Stephanie walks over to EJ and sits on the arm of his chair. She lets him know he can get started with the story whenever he is ready. She looks back at Philip, and she starts to regret walking away from him so quickly. Whenever Melanie was around she felt the need to retreat, especially since she laid on the public display of affection, which was on the heavy side all the time. In order to play the game she had to be stronger and show she didn’t have any effect over her, when she kissed Philip in front of her. This was easier said than done though.
She felt EJ squeeze her thigh. She turns and glances over at him then smiles. She looks down at Johnny and Ali that are glued to his every word while he told the story. It was like he was reading the story to just the two of them instead of everyone in the lobby. His hand lingers on her thigh for a moment, as he runs his hand up and down her thigh. She pushes his hand away and warns him to play nice. They were in the hospital with tons of innocent eyes watching. He simply smiles when he continues to read the story like nothing happened at all.
EJ was becoming a master at this game. He looked up at the right time to make eye contact with her. Then he’d direct her with his eyes to Sami and Philip who both looked like they were staring a hole through their bodies with their eyes. He’d relish in the fact they were winning with another quick pat on my thigh or stealing a glance just to get them riled up even more. He knew seemed to know what to do and when to do it so they’d see and get them worked up over it.
Stephanie locks eyes with Philip again, she felt like she couldn’t breathe with this stare. It was like he was looking straight through her, into her heart and soul. She couldn’t move or look away she was just caught up in the moment with him. She was so caught up she didn’t even realize that EJ had finished the story. He had already started to lead the children in singing silent night. She joins in and makes sure not to make eye contact with Philip again or she would for sure show all her cards. He’d know she really wasn’t into EJ that it was all game.
After they finished singing the song, they started helping distributing the last of the cookies to the kids before the nurses brought them back to their room. EJ wraps his arms around Stephanie’s waist and pulls her in close to his body to whisper in her ear. “You’re sure you don’t want to go bake some cookies with me love.”
“I’m sure.” She said while patting his arm. He kisses her on the cheek.
“If this wasn’t a game that little stare down with you and Philip would have gotten me riled up.” He joked to her. She rolls her eyes. He doesn’t miss a thing. She did say he was a master at this game, so he noticed anything that happened between her and Philip also.
“Well lets be glad we are playing a game.”
“I’ll call you tonight and give you the play by play.”
She nods her head ok and he gives her a quick kiss before heading over to the kids, Sami, and Rafe. Stephanie looks over at Philip who is now getting ready to head out with Melanie to go over to dinner at the Kiriakis Mansion.
The one part of the game she hated was starting to rear its ugly head. She was going to be spending the night alone this Christmas Eve while everyone else would be with their significant others. That was the worst part of the game behind closed doors she was still alone while Melanie got to be with the man she loved.
EJ places the mixing bowl on the counter. Sami already has everything perfectly measured and ready to go for these cookies. This was probably her way of excreting control over the situation and making sure that this family moment didn’t last too long. If it took too long she might have to face the fact that she doesn’t really hate him like she tries to portray to everyone. EJ glances down at his phone to see if Stephanie had called or texted him. She would usually text him something every night.
Johnny and Ali both come running into the room after a change of clothes. EJ picks up Johnny first to put him on one of the bar stool, then he grabs Ali next and puts her on the second stool. They both looked ready to bounce into the ingredients and start making cookies on their own. Surprisingly they waited for their mother and EJ.
Sami finally comes out of her bedroom in a white tank top and black yoga pants. She pins her hair up and starts to walk over to the counter with them. Rafe comes out of the bedroom now also with that permanent scowl on his face. EJ thought he was coming into the kitchen to help but he took a seat on the sofa and just stared at him for a while before cutting on the tv and flipping through the channels. He wanted to show his trust by not having to be in the kitchen for this family moment but he sure as heck wasn’t going to let EJ be alone with Sami like this.
“Looks like we are ready to bake some cookies for Santa.” Sami said with a bright smile to the kids.
“Are you sure we have all the right ingredients?” EJ asked while leaning against the counter and popping a chocolate chip in his mouth.
“Yes I’m sure.” Sami said. She puts her hands on her hips and narrows her eyes at him.
“I thought we needed worms and dirt for these cookies kids.” EJ said while looking at Johnny and Ali.
“Ewww of course not.” Ali exclaimed.
“You sure.” EJ teased.
“Yes Dad.” Johnny said while shaking his head.
“You can make your own batch with those ingredients if you like.” Sami teased.
“Where’s Stephanie?” Ali asked. EJ could see Sami’s face tense up by the mention of Stephanie’s name. He smiles from ear to ear because of this.
“Yes I’m surprised it was ok for you to come over here without her. You guys have been inseparable.” Sami said with a hint of annoyance. The game was really getting to her now before she tried to hide it barely but now she was verbalizing it. He was really getting to her which just made him smile harder.
“She was a little tired but said she knows you guys are going to make some awesome cookies.”
Ali and Johnny both smile after this comment.
“Maybe you can take her some.” Johnny suggested.
“That’s a great idea. I’m sure she would love that.”
“Let’s start these cookies.” Sami interjected. She walks over to the mixer and checks to see if it is plugged in and start beating the butter on a medium speed. She turns to Johnny and Ali and musters up a smile. She tries to show she isn’t affected by the Stephanie talk but EJ can see straight through it, especially since she won’t make eye contact with him. “Alright guys, who wants to hand me the bowl with the sugar that is the first thing we’ll need.” Sami asks the kids over her shoulder. Ali swipes the bowl first and quickly hands it to her mother. Before Johnny could say no fair EJ was already playing mediator getting the next step ready.
“Alright I need you to pack this cup with brown sugar Johnny since Ali did the first task.” He smiles and nods his head ok.
EJ and Sami made sure to alternate each task between the twins, so a fight wouldn’t break out over someone getting to do more. Doing this seemed to make the baking process go fast and smoothly. They just taken out the last batch of chocolate chips cookies from the oven and were letting them cool. EJ and Sami helped Johnny and Ali clean their hands at the sink. Then Sami took them both to their room so she could get them changed for bed.
The watch dog, Rafe had fallen asleep on the couch halfway through them making cookies. So it gave EJ a little more time to flirt freely without his watching eye. It seemed to be working by the smiles and flirtatious comments she continued to give him.
EJ walks to Sydney’s room. She is sleeping so peacefully. EJ walks over and gently caresses the side of her face with his hand. He hears footsteps behind him and he turns to see Sami leaning against the doorframe.
“You’re not turning her against me are you?” She questioned him while walking towards him now.
“You always think the worse of me.” EJ turns to face her now too. “Just sneaking a peak at our beautiful daughter she’s sleeping peacefully.”
“She always does. The first one to go to bed the last one to wake up. I’m thankful she sleep throughout the night.”
“Thanks for inviting me over. It was great to make cookies with them.”
“They just set out the plate of cookies and a glass of milk. When they went to bed I had to put the milk back in the fridge so it doesn’t spoil when Rafe and I eat and drink in the middle of the night.” Sami said with a smile. EJ forces a smile up too but it made him realize even if he has right now with them statements like this reminds him he still miss so much. He won’t get to experience that with Sami. He won’t be able to see their faces when they get excited from the toys that they got from Santa on Christmas morning. He would miss all of that. “The kids made a plate so you can take to Stephanie also.” Sami said softly. “I saw you checking your phone are you guys doing something tonight.”
“No, she usually texts me goodnight when she is going to bed. So I might stop by tonight and give her the cookies then while they are still fresh.”
“Don’t use her to get to me EJ.” Sami warned him. EJ gives her a shocked and appalled look to make her feel so off base. “She’s been hurt enough by guys recently.”
“You think very highly of yourself.” EJ retorted while walking out of Sydney’s room now. “Have you thought of the possibility that I really like her?”
“If you do that’s great but don’t do this to get back at me.” Sami warned him quietly but sternly. She didn’t want to wake the kids up with this argument. EJ was pretty sure she didn’t want Rafe to hear her making this accusation.
“Every decision I make isn’t about you, especially the ones that involve my love life. Stephanie is smart, sweet, and attractive. I like spending time with her. We don’t know where this is going but I like her a lot.”
“Well than I’m happy for you.” Sami said while looking away from him.
“Are you sure about that? I saw the way you looked when the kids mentioned about me bringing cookies to her. You didn’t look happy.” EJ said with a half smile. He knew this statement would make her mad and it did.
“I’m perfectly fine with you guys. I just don’t want you hurting my cousin period.” Sami said firmly.
“Well I don’t intend to intentionally hurt her. We are having a great time.”
“Well that’s good.” Sami said while trying to look like she was not bothered by this conversation at all. She showed her hand when he deflected the question and made it all about her jealousy. She couldn’t hide her true feelings when he pressed her.
“Well I’m going to head out.” EJ said while picking up the plate of cookies. “I had a great time. Good night and Merry Christmas.” EJ kisses her on the cheek before walking out. He could see her cheeks get flushed from it. She was definitely bothered by it, even though she musters up a half smile before she closes the door behind him. He is definitely going to stop by now to give Stephanie these cookies and give her the play by play in person.
Philip sat at the dining table and he couldn’t get Stephanie and EJ out of his mind. They were rather cozy at the Christmas story reading. He doesn’t know why it bothers him so but it does. He still doesn’t trust Dimera even though their families have a truce. He doesn’t know how Stephanie can trust him or be with him. She had to see he was no good for her. Otherwise he would have talk some sense into her soon over EJ.
“Can you pass me the mashed potatoes baby?” Melanie asked him in a cutesy voice. Philip doesn’t respond he continues to push his food on his plate like he has done pretty much most of the night. Maggie and Victor notice but try to pretend like they didn’t. “Baby.” Melanie said again while nudging him.
“I’m sorry what did you say.” Philip said with a nervous laugh.
“Can you pass the mashed potatoes?” She asked again in a cute baby voice again.
“Sure.” He said while quickly handing them over. Melanie takes the bowl from him and looks at Philip who is back to pushing the food on his plate. His mind was obviously somewhere else right now. She knew where and she hated she still had such a \pull on his heart.
“Are you ok son?” Victor finally asked. Everyone has noticed that he is physically here but he really isn’t here with them emotionally. Melanie looks down at her plate because she was fuming. She tried to regroup and smile and be bubbly, just a few more months
“I’m just fine.” Philip said with a smile.
“How was the reading?” Victor asked.
“Great.” Melanie said quickly.
“The biggest joke.” Philip muttered. Melanie looks at him surprised by his response. “I’m sorry having EJ Dimera reading the story is just a joke.”
“EJ.” Victor laughed. He couldn’t believe this either. “The devil himself would have been a better choice.”
Philip throws his head back and laugh. “Exactly Dad.” Philip looks around over to Brady’s chair and he’s still out on his phone call that he got ten minutes ago. “Brady is still gone.”
“Yes, I hope he isn’t talking to that she-devil still.” Victor shakes his head. He couldn’t stand the thought of his grandson’s life getting torn apart by Nicole again.
“Her name is Nicole.” Brady said while entering the room again. “No it was a business call. Philip if I could talk to you for a moment alone.”
“It’s Christmas Eve.” Maggie said in disbelief. Melanie normally would agree but she knows what this call is about.
“It’s ok, make it quick though.” Melanie said softly trying to pretend she is a little upset.
Philip stands from the table and walks with Philip to the corridor. He is starting to wonder what is going on since Brady looks so solemn. “Just tell me what’s going on.”
“I know you wanted an early Christmas present with news that Alternative Fuels Project is a go again.”
“What is it going to take him a little longer to uncode what he did?” Philip asked him.
“He isn’t able to fix it like he thought. That virus that was unleashed on the Titan files was pretty lethal.” Brady told him. He puts his hands in his pockets and tries to think of something else to say. He can tell Philip wasn’t expecting that news at all. “I’m sorry man.”
“Are you serious? Did he explain why?” Philip asked.
“Yeah, but in all this complex coding talk that I have no clue what the hell he meant.” Brady said angrily.
“All that work down the drain again.” Philip said in disbelief. He felt like he was going to be sick. “I’ll be back. I need to take a drive to clear my head.”
“Philip you can’t be serious we are in the middle of dinner.” Brady called after him but he was already out the door. Brady walks back into the dining room and everyone looks for Philip.
“Where is Philip?” Melanie asked him.
“He needed to take a ride to clear his mind.” Brady said while taking a seat at the table.
“You could see something is on his mind indeed.” Maggie said while taking a sip of his wine. Melanie thought to herself more like someone not something. She picks up her glass to finish off the red wine in her glass. She knows her fiancé is heading over to his ex to wallow in his pain and there is nothing she can do about it. She texts EJ to make sure he is at Stephanie’s so when Philip shows up he has no reason to stay.
Stephanie pulls the blanket tighter to her body as she watched It’s a Wonderful Life on NBC. It was starting to become a tradition for her and her family. Unfortunately this year she had to watch it alone since her parents were in the country. They did just text her to let her know they are watching it on dvd and thinking about her which made her smile.
Stephanie hears a soft knock at her door. She puts down her bowl of popcorn on the table and starts to stand up and she hears the person knock again and more urgently. She walks over to her door and opens the door. She was surprised by her visitor. “Hey, what are you doing here?” She asked while leaning against her door frame.

Great Chapter Brady Diva, I remember when I read it several months ago I was so anxious to find out if it was E.J. or Philip at her door. I still enjoy reading these chapters even though I have already read them all several times. I'm still at the edge of my seat, and thats because I know what happens.

I think that is what is missing in Days of Our Lives today, that suspence and wondering what is going to happen next. Everything is so predictable, I can't remember the last felt surprised.

I was about to feel sorry for Stephanie for spending Christmas night all alone, but it looks like she's about to have company. Despite waffling in earlier chapters, I find myself hoping it's Philip.

Thanks for all the lovely comments. Here's another chapter. *Steamy Alert* This chapter does get a little steamy.
Love Games-13
He had driven around the block probably about ten times already before he finally pulled over and stopped in front of her apartment. He grips the stirring wheel tightly, and tells himself, if he goes up to her apartment it would only be for a minute.
He knew when he started to climb the stairs to her apartment he wouldn't be able to stay just for a minute. He tells himself to turn around now, but he is already at her door knocking, darn near pounding on the door.
She opens the door and stands in front of him in her tank top and shorts. Her shorts showed off those gorgeous legs and made him loss his focus. He could feel the blood rushing to his head, both of them.
He should have gone straight home instead of coming here. Being here alone with her would be a bad idea. But here he was standing and staring at her, waiting to be let in.
He saw her lips moving but didn’t hear what she said. He was too concentrated on them and how sexy, and kissable they were. She leans against the door frame and folds her arms across her chest. It pulls the thin material across her breast, which made him ache.
“What are you doing here Philip?” She asked him again. It was a good and valid question it was late on Christmas Eve and he dropped by his ex-fiance’s house without calling. He really couldn’t explain it himself. After that news he just needed to see her.
“I was driving to clear my mind.” He said softly. He jams his hands in his pocket and asked the one question he shouldn't have asked. “Can I come in?” She steps aside to let him in and he brushes against her which made her skin feel like it was on fire. His breathe got caught in his throat from their touch.
He knew he was playing with fire by being here, but it felt like his heart and body were winning the battle against his mind. He needed to see her tonight.
“What’s on your mind that it had to be cleared?” Stephanie asked while walking over to the couch again and taking a seat. She looks up and sees that he is still standing, so she pats on the seat next to her on the couch inviting him to join her. He stands still and watches her and thinks maybe his mind has finally winning the battle again, because he knew it would be a bad move to sit on the couch with her. It would be too tempting especially with what she is wearing right now.
“I got some bad news on a deal today.” Philip said while taking his coat off and hanging it on the coat rack prolonging his decision to take a seat next to her or not.
“I should have known it was a business deal.” She said with a soft laugh. That intoxicating and infectious laugh had been creeping in his thoughts a lot lately.
“It’s not just any business deal.” Philip said while walking into her kitchen and looking in her fridge. He stops while doing it. He realized he hadn’t even asked he was in her home like he belonged there. He looks up and she’s staring back at him with those beautiful chocolate brown eyes that it made him loss his train of thought again. He shakes his head and gathers his manners and asks. “Mind if I get a beer?”
“No, go ahead.” She refills her own wine glass with the bottle of wine she had on the table. She had already had a few glasses so the bottle was almost empty. This was when she was throwing her pity party since she was all alone on Christmas Eve. She takes a sip and leans against the couch.
“It’s not just a business deal.” Stephanie repeated his last statement letting him know, she wasn’t letting him drop the subject.
“Yes it wasn’t just a business deal. Brady and I thought we were actually going to get the Fuel’s Project back up and running.” Philip said while opening his beer. He decides to sit on the couch with her just not where she patted. He stayed on one side while she still stayed on her side. He knew if he sat any closer that he couldn’t resist the urge to kiss her. He had been fighting this urge since he saw her leaning against the door.
“The Alternate Fuel’s Project.” Stephanie repeated in disbelief. That project was the start to Hurricane Melanie into their lives. His desire to make this project a success so it could be the most successful project Titan has ever done; drove a wedge in their relationship. He wanted his father’s approval and to show him that he could run Titan on his own. He felt like this project was the only way, but she knew it wasn’t. He was his own brilliant business man. He didn’t need this project to prove that. “How were you guys close to getting it up and running again. All the files for the project were deleted.”
“Hacked and stolen.” Philip corrected her. He wanted to bring up the fact that it was all due to her new boyfriend. He takes a swig of his beer just to get EJ and the thought of the two of them together out of his mind. He didn’t want to bring EJ up and ruin the night. “We got a pretty good lead that the man we were working with was the guy that hacked into Titan’s network. I wanted to strangle him but Brady wanted to manipulate him into reversing what he had done. I give it to Brady that was a really smart move. Now some how he can’t figure out how to undo what he did, so I want to strangle him again.” He joked.
Stephanie laughs now too. Her laugh made his breath catch in his throat again. She smiles and looks at him.
“So you don’t think it is a coincidence that he just couldn’t reverse it.” Stephanie asked him.
“I’m sure that the same man that deleted those files had something to do with his sudden inability to reverse it.” Philip said through gritted teeth. He wasn’t subtle with this jab at EJ so he was now failing at not bringing him up tonight.
Stephanie sighs she knows if she is playing the dotting girlfriend this is the time that she would stick up for her man and defend him.
She also knows if EJ got wind of this, he definitely had a part in this man’s sudden memory lost. So it would be pointless to defend him on this front. Plus she didn’t want to play the game tonight. She wanted to know why he had to come to her and tell her this. She knew the answer and he knew the answer too.
He still loved her and she was his confidant, even if he couldn’t admit it right now. She had to push him to say it, but she knew this could be dicey.
“So why are you here?” Stephanie asked him while sitting up in her seat and looking him directly in his eyes.
“Like I said I just had to clear my head and I ended up here.” Philip said while taking a sip of his beer and breaking the stare.
“Yes you told me that but I want to know why you are really here?” Stephanie asked again. Philip could feel his blood rushing through his body with that question. He knew what she was alluding too, but he didn’t want to say it. “You could have told this to Melanie instead of coming here to tell me.”
“I could have, and you could have never let me in.” Philip said in a husky voice that made her quiver. He had her there. She could have told him it’s late and to come back another time, but she wasn’t about to let him get off that easily.
“Yes but you still had to come here and tell me, on Christmas Eve.” Stephanie noted.
He shifts on the couch uncomfortably. He could say what she wanted to hear that he couldn’t get her off of his mind after the reading. She has been on his mind a lot lately. It wouldn’t change the fact that they are involved with other people right now. That he wasn’t the man she wanted, he couldn’t live up to her ideal man.
“You’re my friend and I wanted to talk to a friend.” Philip said anxiously.
“Man up this has nothing to do with friendship.” Stephanie laughs and now moves to stand up from the couch. She sees pushing him, wasn’t going to amount to nothing tonight. He was going to hide from the truth as long as he possibly could, so long that she might not be here waiting for him to realize it.
Philip stares back at her , she pulled a dirty move questioning his manhood. She knew that is something that a Kiriakis man just couldn’t let go. She knew just how to get under his skin too.
Before she knew it she felt his strong hands on her wrist tugging her back down on the couch with him. When he pulls her down, she falls on his lap and she felt like she couldn’t breathe. She looks back at him shocked and surprised, while his hungry eyes roamed her. She felt like her skin was on fire when his fingertips brushed across her arms and went to the small of her back.
“You want me to man up.” He whispered in her ear in a husky voice. “How?” he asked her.
She looks back at him with them fiery eyes that drove him wild. He didn’t give her a chance to say anything. His body and heart took over again when his lips covered hers. He lost himself in this kiss. He had done everything that he said he wouldn’t and couldn’t do tonight. Well not everything yet, but he had no regrets right now he felt like the world stopped spinning just for one moment.
He tasted her lips and they tasted like a mix of her strawberry lip gloss and the wine she was drinking. His tongue slipped over her lips to get a better taste. Before his mind could regain control again she opened her mouth slightly and his tongue greedily went in to savor her taste more.
She wasn’t expecting this kiss but she was enthralled by it. His tongue stroked against hers sending all of her nerves and senses on edge. She could feel herself shaking against him as she lifted her hands to wrap them around his neck and pull him in closer to her. He lowers her body on the couch and he slides on top of her. The feel of his lips moving against hers and his tongue stroking hers sent pleasure racing through her entire body.
“We shouldn’t be doing this.” She said breathless while gripping his shirt collar tighter. Philip gives her a lazy smile, since she was saying they shouldn’t be doing this but she wasn’t pushing away just pulling him closer. Maybe she was acting with her heart and body like he was right now and her mind tried to take over. He kisses her again and pulls her closer against him now. She could feel his rock hard erection behind the denim of his jeans tempting her more.
“We shouldn’t be doing this, but this is all I could think of doing since I stepped in here.” He whispered in her ear hoarsely. He nibbles on her ear and leaves kisses on her on her neck. She couldn’t help to smile when he confirms he has been thinking about this and dreaming about this like she has.
She could feel his phone vibrating against her thigh. She hoped he wouldn’t break this kiss to answer it. He didn’t, he ignores his phone and returns his kisses to her lips.
She felt his hand slip up her tank top, his hand cups her breast. His thumb traced her hardened nipples while he continued to kiss her neck.
“Philip.” She gaps his name and there was a sigh of pleasure. He begins to torture her lips again with soft kisses. She could barely hear her phone ring in the background. She definitely wasn’t moving to answer it. He nibbles at her lips as she gasped and fought to draw in oxygen.
Who knew a kiss could feel so good. She thought to herself. She hears her answer machine kick on and she tenses up when she hears Melanie’s voice over it. Philip does the same thing.
“Stephanie, are you in?” Melanie asks. She hears her give a heavy sigh over the phone. “I apologize for calling so late.” Stephanie felt so awkward since she was lying right under her fiancé at the moment and he was just giving her the most bind-blowing kiss that she has ever had. “I was just looking for Philip. He said he was going on a drive and he’s been gone for a while. I thought you might know where he is. Again I’m sorry to bother you. I'm just worried. Sorry, just forget I called it's probably nothing.” She stammered and finally disconnects the call. Stephanie pushes Philip up back to his side of the couch.
“You should go.” Stephanie said while standing up and turning away from him. She couldn’t look at him right now.
“Stephanie, I’m sorry.” Philip said softly.
“I don’t need your apologies Philip.” Stephanie told him firmly. “We just both got carried away. Just go.” She told him still not daring to face him. She felt the tears forming and she didn’t want to let him see her like this. “Your fiancé is waiting for you.” She reminded him.
He wanted to say something, he steps towards her and she takes another step forward. So he stops approaching her. He didn’t want to hurt her any more than he already has in the past. He knew if he came up here that this could happen. He let his body and heart take over and forgot about the consequences.
Stephanie turns and faces him now with her best poker face but he could see the hurt and it was killing him. “Philip really, just go it’s getting late.” Stephanie said while walking to the door and opening it for him. “Have a merry Christmas.”
He wanted to stay and make her talk to him. Let her know how he felt and if he could be the person she wanted he would be with her for the rest of his life. Before he could say anything her phone was ringing again and she walks looks at him to leave, so he does just that leave.
Stephanie closes the door behind him, she felt like she was literally punched in the gut. She walks across the room and unplugs the phone. She had enough phone calls for tonight. She surely didn’t want to have another phone call from Melanie asking her where Philip was.
She walks back over to the couch and cuts the tv back on. It felt weird to watch a wonderful life now since life didn’t feel that wonderful. She pours the rest of the wine into her glass and takes a sip. She here’s a knock on her door. She looks over at it but she is content on ignoring it for the moment. The knock only gets louder so the other person isn’t content on letting her ignore them. She prays it isn’t Philip again. She looks through her peep hole and sees EJ knocking. She sighs and opens the door.
“What took you so long?” EJ asked while stepping inside of her apartment.
“I have a better question what are you doing here?” Stephanie asked him.
“Is it a crime for a man to want to spend time with his girlfriend?” EJ asked her with a wink.
“Fake girlfriend.” Stephanie reminded him. “Hopefully that won’t last for long.”
“You hope that lasts forever.” EJ said while pulling her into his arms. She laughs against his chest. He always seemed to make her smile when she really doesn’t feel like it. “Plus I brought cookies.” He said while dangling a bag of cookies for her. “The kids insisted I brought these to you right away.”
“Really, did Sami have a heart attack when they offered that?” Stephanie asked with a laugh.
“That is another reason I came over. I wanted to make sure you were alright. I thought she might have put a curse on you or something.” EJ teased
“No curse I’m fine.” Stephanie said while holding her arms up and doing a twirl for him. He whistles and she playful hits him on the arm.
“Plus I wanted to give you the play by play.” EJ said with a smile.
Stephanie knew that he definitely wasn’t leaving till he told her everything about making cookie with Sami’s. This was his first time to really do anything alone with her. It was his first time to really get some benefit from the game. Stephanie contemplates telling him just how bad she might have messed everything up with them tonight by letting her emotions get the best of her.
“I guess I have time for the play by play only for a little while.” Stephanie warns him.
EJ takes her hand and leads her to the couch and they both take a seat. “A wonderful life, one of my faves too.”
“It’s a family tradition.” Stephanie admits like sitting curling up close to him on the couch. She spreads the blanket across the both of them.
“Nice tradition.” EJ said with a smile. EJ opens the cookies and hands her a cookie and she happily takes it. He picks up her wine glass and takes a sip from it. He starts giving her every detail to the night while Stephanie laughed and listened. Especially since he made it seem so grand. It let her forget about her troubles for tonight. She knew she would have to face what happened between her and Philip soon. She would have to tell EJ too so he wasn't blind sided by it.

Terrific chapter BradyDiva. I loved the hot encounter between Stephanie and Philip. I'm looking forward to finding out how EJ reacts when he finds out about it.
