from daytime royalty daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8569954/1/SOW: Christie Clark on her Return: "I'm really excited!"; 9/13 Issue Please link to DR. Christie Clark (Carrie) returns on September 26, with on-screen hubby Patrick Muldoon (Austin) by her side. "It's been 16 years since we last worked together!" she points out. In the interim, Clark worked with Muldoon's successor, Austin Peck. "Patrick originated the role and he brings a darker, edgier, kind of animalistic [interpretation]," she observes. "Working with Patrick again feels great and right." Though Muldoon left DAYS in 1995, he and Clark stayed in contact. "We're so much alike in real life," she offers. "We're both Irish and from similar types of families. We have similar senses of humor and really enjoy each other's company. When someone clicks with you like that, you keep them in your life." Clark, who's married to Thomas Barnes, and has two daughters, Hannah, 3, and Emma, 11 months, will travel from their San Francisco home to DAYS's Burbank studio, where she'll work three days a week. "I get to spend the other time with my family, which is great!" she smiles. Clark grew up in the Los Angeles area and welcomed the opportunity to live there again on a part-time basis. "I feel blessed that I get to enjoy the difference, living in two cities," voices Clark. "I like getting back into the Los Angeles life that I grew up in, but I'm also happy to step away from it. There's good and bad to both cities, but I prefer San Francisco." Clark rejoins DAYS as the soap shifts its focus back to core characters tied to beloved families. "The writers [Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas, Jr.] are doing a great job nailing the characters and writing the way they used to be," she previews. "It feels like 1992; that's when Patrick and I first worked together. Every storyline is interesting. They've done an unbelievable job." Does Clark have a wish for her character? "I want her to be stronger," she answers, "and keep her family and marriage together."

Sounds like Carrie and Austin are difinitely headed for a break up. That makes them slightly more interesting to me. But only slightly.

Happy couples should never return to Salem (and neither should Austin and Carrie). Salem is the breakup capital of the world.

I hate Carrie almost as much as Abe. If Carrie and Austin break up, please God, don't let them lean Austin towards Sami. Ugh. So over done.

I am curious about Austin, not so much about Carrie.

Maybe Austin will have an affair with Nicole. Didn't they work together along with Sami at one point?
