"The Family Man" (2000) ( IMDb summary) So, ahem, many years ago I first watched this movie only because Saul Rubinek is in it. Because of watching it I discovered Téa Leoni. Well, I saw this in the guide a few weeks ago so I hit the record button and I finally watched it. Tissue alert: Little Annie realizing her daddy is an alien. You may laugh reading that but trust me about the tissues. My favorite line: Kate: "I choose us." And then Little Annie rings the bell. Oh no! And Jack says his good-byes and fights to stay awake. And lots more tissues. And then the ending... Even if they get together, they'll never have Annie or Josh. For me that's the biggest catalyst for Jack wanting Kate again. Plus, Kate isn't and never will be the Kate he woke up to. So the best thing, I think, is that they sit there and chat about all of the "what could have been" things, then she catches the next flight to Paris and he goes back to his miserable lonely life of luxury.

Two of my absolute favorites and go to movies are "Tombstone" (Kurt Russell, Sam Elliot, Bill Paxton, & Val Kilmer) "Down Periscope" (Kelsey Grammer, Rob Schneider, William H Macy, & Rip Torn).
Down Periscope has some language in it but there are some innuendos and a couple of conversations that some may think isn't appropriate for younger ears. There's really only 2 parts like that that I skip if the boys are watching. The rest of the movie is hilarious and my oldest absolutely loves it.
Some additional movies that I like are: "Oh Brother Where Art Tho" "Ernest Goes to Jail" "Ernest Goes to Camp" - kids LOVE this one! just about all of the Madea movies. GI Jane is a good one, but there is strong language in it. R.I.P.D Red & Red 2 - again language. Also has a lot of shooting and blowing things up (my boys love this last part. LOL).
I have a friend whose "go to" movies are Top Gun and the older Ghostbuster movies.

Shawshank Redemption is a favorite at my house.
My girls recently discovered The Goonies and Space Jam. They really like watching Hayley Mills movies including The Parent Trap (original version), The Truth about Angels, and Pollyanna.

So today's episode with Jennifer and Eric watching the romantic comedy must have put me into the mood so I dug out "Return to Me" (2000) and just finished watching it. *sigh* Hubby and I agree that this has got to be one of the most perfect movies ever made! The story. The dialog. THE CAST! OMG!! The cast is amazing! If you haven't ever seen it just be sure to have lots of tissues early on. One of the other things I love about this movie is that they get the heart-wrenching over with early on. It's a pretty tough sequence of scenes. Hubby got up and left the room. I stuck it out because I love a good cry. The rest of the movie is mostly fun stuff developing but there is some roller-coaster emotions of course.
I just can't say enough wonderful things about this movie. Well I'll say one more thing... Bonnie Hunt. The woman has a golden touch!

Good choice UhSir. I loved the cast of "Return to Me". There were multiple layers of story not just concentrating on the "couple". Minnie Driver's character did not give up on her own dreams which was refreshing. Plus there was a dog!
I loved the Bonnie Hunt talk show. I was so disappointed when it was cancelled.

Oh honey, you will love it. Call your favorite video store and if they don't already have it tell them to get it!
