WEST HOUSE
Some time later, Silver leaned over to turn on the light on the bedside table, but ended up laying on her side. She picked herself back up again and turned the light on. Both her and Sydney’s faces were slightly flushed.
SYDNEY: That was so much fun!
SILVER: It was! I love that movie!
SYDNEY: Me too!
SILVER: I really wanna go to Salem someday.
SYDNEY: But we already live in Salem.
The girls giggled.
SILVER: You know what I mean. Salem, like, the one in the movie.
SYDNEY: Oh yeah. Me too.
The girls laid back on the bed.
SILVER: Thanks for watching the movie with me and for staying over. I’m glad even though you don’t love me the way I love you, we can still be friends.
SYDNEY: Me too. And I do love you, just not in a romantic way. You’re my best friend.
SILVER: You’re mine too.
Silver sighed.
SILVER: Do we have any more cider left?
Sydney rolled over and almost fell off the bed. She quickly grabbed the side and caught herself. After steadying herself, she picked up the bottle on the other bedside table.
SYDNEY: Empty.
SILVER: Aw. That was really good, even though it didn’t taste anything like the cider my Mom normally buys. What kind was it?
Sydney handed Silver the bottle. Silver blinked a few times trying to focus on the label. Finally, she did.
SILVER: Uh-oh.
SYDNEY: What’s wrong?
SILVER: This is hard cider. There’s alcohol in it.
SYDNEY: Oops.
Both girls giggled again. Silver set the bottle down and sat up.
SILVER: Whoa!
SYDNEY: What?
SILVER: Sydney...are you aware that the room is spinning?
SYDNEY: Oh yeah.
Silver laid down again.
SYDNEY: You okay? I know you don’t do well on spinny rides.
SILVER: I’m fine. I’m just a little freaked out right now.
Sydney put a hand on Silver’s shoulder.
SYDNEY: You’ll be okay. I’m here if you need anything.
SILVER: Thanks. I just need to lay here for a few minutes.
Sydney gently rubbed Silver’s shoulder.
DIMERA MANSION
WEST: What’d you think?
Johnny had turned on the lights, and he and Meadow West had sat up and turned off the TV.
JOHNNY: That was pretty bad!
WEST: Yep!
JOHNNY: I mean, it wouldn’t be so bad if you removed all the references to the first film and made it its own thing. A little derivative maybe, but it wouldn’t be as bad as it is.
WEST; Yeah, but I like that they got Amy Irving back for it.
JOHNNY: Yeah, she was a good actress. So, is that the end of the film series?
WEST: It is. If you’re interested, there are two remakes of the original, but we’d have to watch them another night, since I didn’t bring them with me.
JOHNNY: Are either of them as good as the original?
West thought for a moment.
WEST: I wouldn’t say as good. One of them’s basically a shot-for-shot remake, with some updates in technology. The other is more like the novel, but has the look and feel of a non-cable made-for-TV movie.
JOHNNY: That’s cool. I wouldn’t mind watching either or both of those sometime. But I really want to see those Psycho sequels for our next movie night.
WEST: Sounds perfect to me.
Johnny and West kissed. There was a knock on the door and they quickly broke apart when they heard it open. E.J. stuck his head in.
E.J.: Evening, you two. Having a good time?
JOHNNY: Very much so, Father. Meadow was showing me one of her favorite film series.
E.J.: Ah, anything good?
WEST: Carrie. The original one with Sissy Spacek.
E.J.: Excellent choice. That’s a cracking film. Well, just thought I’d check in and see how you two are getting on.
WEST: That’s nice of you, Mr. DiMera
E.J. nodded.
E.J.: Oh, Johnny, your uncle wishes to speak with you in the morning about the project.
JOHNNY: Great. I’ll look forward to it.
E.J.: Good. Well, I’ll leave you to it, then. Lovely to see you again, Meadow.
WEST: You too.
E.J.: Good night, Johnny.
JOHNNY: Night, Dad.
E.J. left, shutting the door behind him.
WEST: So, your uncle’s helping you with a project?
JOHNNY: Yeah, it’s not to do with school, though it does kind of tie into it.
WEST: How so?
Johnny considered.
JOHNNY: It’s, uh...So, you know I’m studying filmmaking?
WEST: Yeah, of course.
JOHNNY: My uncle’s been helping me hone my skills. He was a stage actor when he was my age, and he knows some things about film.
WEST: That’s really cool! Both of your uncles seem really nice1 Which one’s helping you?
JOHNNY; Oh, you haven’t met this uncle yet. He’s not always around like Uncle Chad and Uncle Tony. His name is André.
WEST: Well, I’ll have to meet him sometime.
