SAMI & LUCAS’ APARTMENT
Lucas was sitting at the dining room table looking over the mail. Allie walked in.
ALLIE: Hi Dad.
LUCAS: Hey. How’d things go at school today?
ALLIE: Pretty great, actually. Mr. Woods was super understanding about the incident. And I talked to Ricky.
LUCAS: Oh? And how did that go?
ALLIE: So great! I didn’t exactly tell him that I like him, but I asked him to the Last Blast and he said yes!
LUCAS: Sweetheart, that’s fantastic!
ALLIE: Thanks! I’m so excited!
LUCAS: Well, prepare to be even more excited. You got some mail today.
Lucas handed an envelope to Allie. Her eyes got wide.
ALLIE: Is this what I think it is?
LUCAS; Only one way to find out, right?
Allie carefully opened up the envelope, took out the paper inside, and read it.
LUCAS: Well?
She pulled a card off of the paper.
ALLIE: I did it! I got my license!
She showed Lucas the license.
LUCAS: That’s awesome! I’m so proud of you, kid!
Allie and Lucas hugged.
ALLIE: Thanks, Dad! Especially for all of your help with driving over the last year!
LUCAS: No problem. Anything for you.
Lucas kissed the top of Allie’s head.
ALLIE: I’ve gotta tell Mom and Sydney! Where are they?
LUCAS: Well, we all knew you were hanging out with Manny this afternoon, so she picked Johnny and Sydney up from school. And when I saw this in the mail, I figured that that’s what it was, so we talked, and decided we should celebrate. They’re waiting for us at the Brady Pub to have dinner.
ALLIE: Awesome!
Lucas felt around in his pocket and pulled out a set of keys, which he handed to Allie.
LUCAS: You wanna do the honors?
Allie smiled and took the keys.
ALLIE: Let’s go!
LUCAS: All right!
Lucas put an arm around Allie, and the two walked out.
DIMERA MANSION
Down in Rolf’s lab, E.J. filled in André on his conversation with Tony, as well as the earlier one with John, Hope and Steve. Drew, Mitch and Luna were also in the room.
E.J.: So...that’s that, then.
ANDRE: Yes. Well, thank you for letting me know. At least the good people of Salem don’t yet suspect the truth about our little operation.
E.J.: Well, they do suspect that we’re behind it.
ANDRE: Yes, but they do not know who the true videographer is. Do try to keep up, Elvis.
E.J.: Indeed. Sorry.
DREW: Did you find out anything useful? If Steve Johnson and John Black are on this case, no doubt my do-gooder brother is, as well. Or, soon will be.
E.J.: No new information. Not of the sort you’re looking for, anyway.
DREW: No, of course. Because that would be helpful.
André turned and gave Drew a look.
ANDRE: Remember your place, Andrew Donovan. It would be a terrible shame if you were to have to make a hasty exit before seeing our plan to its full final outcome, wouldn’t it?
Drew scowled, but shut his mouth and looked away.
ANDRE: Elvis knows what his job in all of this is, as do you all.
LUNA: Of course.
MITCH: So, what’s our next move?
ANDRE: The next move, dear Mitch, is to raise the stakes a bit. We already did a bit with the tape sent to Hope Brady, but I know that we can do better. According to our videographer, the next tape will be ready by tomorrow afternoon. And it promises to be quite a killer.
André chuckled darkly.
BRADY PUB
A short time later, Allie and Lucas met up with Sami, Johnny and Sydney.
SAMI: Congrats on getting your license, sweetheart!
ALLIE: Thanks, Mom!
JOHNNY (under his breath): Still don’t see why you won’t let me drive.
SYDNEY: ‘Cause you don’t have a license. You haven’t even been through Driver’s Ed.
JOHNNY: Shut up. No one asked you.
LUCAS: Hey, both of you can cut that out. We’re here to celebrate, not fight.
Johnny rolled his eyes.
SAMI: It’s up to you whether you want to take Driver’s Ed, Johnny. I would have had you do it already, but when I brought it up, you said you weren’t interested.
JOHNNY: I changed my mind.
SAMI: All right, then. Next semester, you can sign up for Driver’s Ed.
Allie’s phone buzzed. She glanced down at it. On the screen was a text from Manny. “My parents said yes, what about yours?” Allie quickly sent a message back.
SAMI: Something exciting going on over there?
Allie looked up and put the phone away, turning slightly pink.
ALLIE: Sorry. Um, I was gonna ask you guys something.
LUCAS: All right, what’s up?
ALLIE: I have this extra credit assignment I want to do for Mr. Woods’ class, since I feel bad about missing most of it yesterday. It involves going to a zoo or nature center and taking pictures of a bunch of stuff there. Manny’s mom works at one in Burnt Hill, so Manny and I were wondering if I could go over on Saturday, do the assignment, and maybe stay overnight. So...can I?
Lucas and Sami looked at each other, then at Allie.
LUCAS: Has Manny asked her parents if it’s okay?
ALLIE: Yeah. That’s actually what the text I just answered was about.
SAMI: Good. Well, I think that would be fine. It’d be nice for you to spend some time with your friend.
LUCAS: Me too.
ALLIE: Awesome! Thank you guys so much!
OUTSIDE THE LOFT
Claire and Chase got out of their car.
CHASE: Do you know if Hope’s found out any more about the tapes?
Claire shook her head.
CLAIRE: Not that I know of, at least. I guess she and your dad got one a week or so ago.
CHASE: Yeah, that’s what I heard, too. Man, this is so weird.
CLAIRE: Yeah. Makes me wonder who might be the next person to get a tape. Hopefully whoever it is, they don’t get a tape as creepy as the one Grandma got.
CHASE: Let’s hope so.
CLAIRE: Anyway, let’s talk about something nicer. It’s a beautiful night, especially for mid-April. Wanna go for a walk?
CHASE: On a night like this with my amazing Songbird by my side? How can I say no?
Chase and Claire kissed, then giggled. They took each other’s arm and walked down a path that would lead them to the Park. Unknown to either of them, they were being watched. A figure hid nearby. It pulled out a cell phone and typed a message, which read: “I’ve seen them, but they left. I’ll have to wait for them to come back.” A moment later, the figure received a text back. It said, “Come back. You can see them tomorrow. Tonight, I want to spend time with you”. The figure put their phone away, and walked in the opposite direction.
