its a new computer.. not even 9mths old.. it was working fine.. til today.. don't know why

You were able to see the preview okay before today?
Did you add effects to the video since the last time it worked?
Does the video render okay?
Did you install any codecs or other video programs recently?

lol.. I didn't add any effects to it..

You could try turning the "GPU acceleration of video processing" to Off. Should be an option somewhere in Preferences or Settings. Not sure what Vegas calls it.

found out whats wrong.. for some reason.. the .. turn video off was checked.. *rubs her forehead* when did I do that? lol
all good now:)
