So... why does Thaao Penghlis get to have a two year contract and yet Camila Banus is signed on for at least one more year? I don't get it.

Because Thaao opted to sign the contract for that long, and Camilla opted to sign a one year contract.

It doesn't necessarily mean Camilla Banus won't get another contract when this one is done. I think she's involved in other projects and is taking this year by year.
Anyway, since this is about Thaoo's contract, let me just say...
