Do you and/or your family do anything special for Earth Day?

When I walk I take a bag to pick up the trash that appears overnight. Our road leads to a small state park where college students like to congregate. They leave behind bottles, cans and papers as they go to appreciate nature.

Happy Earth Day.
We don't do anything different for Earth Day than we do the rest of the year, which is a lot. We compost, we recycle EVERYTHING, we set our thermostat high, we combine shopping trips to conserve gas rather than drive back and forth, and the list goes on.

I don't do something special on Earth Day but I stopped eating meat almost a year ago and one of the reasons I did it is because it impacts the environment/climate change.
I also recycle as much as I can and try to use my own shopping bags as much as I can.

wendylou, do you find it hard giving up meat? Not really. I've never been a big meat eater and the stuff I liked was mostly junk, burgers, bacon, bbq, so I figured it was better to give it up anyway. If I want a burger now I make a veggie burger with all the fixings and fries and it's just as good to me. Occasionally I see an ad for something I used to really like and I re-think my decision but only for a minute. I used to really like those zensation salads from Zaxbys and they keep advertising them right now. That's driving me nuts. |

I didn't throw trash out of my car window.  Just kidding; I would never do that. But, no, I didn't do anything special. I recycle anything I can every day of the year. |
