I like Chloe's fantasy as she falls asleep.

Chapter 9a
At about 7:00 a.m., Philip was getting dressed when Chloe returned to the bedroom after checking on Parker.
“How’s he doing?”
“He’s fine,” Chloe said with a hint of amazement. “He’s watching that DVD you bought him and he seems perfectly fine. Hard to believe that’s the same child who was so sick 24 hours ago.” She watched Philip sitting on the edge of the bed, tying his shoelaces. “I need to sneak you out of here.”
Philip looked up. “Why?”
“Because, Parker can’t know you spent the night.”
Straightening up, Philip said, “Parker and I have an appointment today. It’s Saturday, and it’s our monthly father and son breakfast. I would be here anyway.”
“Oh that’s right. I forgot.”
“Do you think Parker will notice that I’m wearing the same thing to breakfast that I was wearing last night? I never wear the same thing two days in a row.”
“You’re such a clothes horse,” Chloe joked. “And you missed a button.”
He pouted as he looked down at his shirt. He stood up to rebutton the last few buttons, and noted, “I’m way overdressed for breakfast.”
“Here. Lose the tie,” she said, unknotting it and sliding it out of his collar. “That’s better.” She looked into his eyes and said, “Have I told you lately how much I love you?”
“Oh baby. Every time you look at me.” He brushed her cheek with his fingers. “But don’t let that stop you from saying the words.”
“I love you, Philip Kiriakis.” Touching the front of his shirt, she leaned in and gave him a slow languid kiss. Then resting her cheek on his shoulder, she said, “I’m glad you woke me up during the night.”
He closed his arms around her. “Me too. We’ll have to do that again. Soon.” He leaned close to her ear and whispered, “Next time we’ll go slow.”
“Mmm. Definitely.” Chloe chuckled and leaned away. Her smile faded. “Honey, promise me you won’t get angry.”
“About what?”

I really like seeing them so happy. I wonder what Chloe is going to say.

Another sweet chapter! I also wonder what Chloe is going to say. I like how having a child makes things a bit more awkward for them.

Aw! That was really sweet! But, I'm wondering why Chloe is having him promise he won't get angry? Great chapter, Kpatch!

Chapter 9b
Chloe’s smile faded. “Honey, promise me you won’t get angry.”
“About what?”
“I don’t want to be a party pooper, but I’m not sure it’s a good idea for Parker to eat out with you today.”
Philip raised his brow. “You just said he’s fine.”
“I know. And he probably is, but I’d still go easy for a day or two. … You okay,” she asked.
Rubbing his forehead, he said, “Yeah, why?”
“I don’t know.” She cocked her head and studied his face. “It just seems like you got serious all of a sudden.”
“Okay.” Philip took a deep breath. “I think it’s time to tell him … about us.” When Chloe took a step back, Philip looked at her quizzically. "What?”
“Nothing.” Chloe sat down heavily on the edge of the bed. “It’s just that Dr. Richards said we should tell him together in a family counseling session. She said she wants to be there to control the situation.”
“Yeah, I know. She wants to control everything. She’s afraid Parker will react to our emotions and she wants to temper his glee or something like that.” He rolled his eyes. “I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to temper Parker’s joy. Nothing would make me happier than seeing Parker happy, and since we’re happy, why shouldn’t he be happy too?”
Chloe sighed. “I understand what you’re saying, Philip, but I also understand what Mary is suggesting. She just doesn’t want him getting too excited or too hopeful.”
He walked over to the bed and plopped down beside her. “I get that. I just … I feel like we’re at a point where … I don’t know. I just think ….”
“Think what? That things are going to work out for us?”
Philip nodded. “Don’t you?”

Well, I can see Chloe's point. They've been separated for a while. It's hard to know how Parker will react. Better to do this in a controlled environment with someone who can help him work through his emotions than not, IMHO.

Yeah, I can definitely see Chloe's point about wanting Dr. Richards to be there when they tell Parker. Thanks for the chapter, Kpatch!

I also think Chloe is right. I don't like how Philip sees Dr. Richards as the enemy wanting to control things. She's trying to make sure Parker's best interests are taken care of. I really think Philip needs to get that.
