FML! I wonder how many people may get fired now. I also think Days may have finally driven the last nail in its coffin. I won't be surprised if around this time next year it might get cancelled.

I am hoping that this means an end to the constant darkness. I recall reading that Josh Griffith was a huge Hitchcock fan who wanted to do dark stories.

I hope so. I don't know who is responsible for all of the darkness but I am ready for it to end.

Hallelujah! I hope and pray that means the dark DAYS are over.
Hope Griffin left on his own and has a great new job but I am so so so happy he's leaving my soap. He's been working to hard to destroy it. I'm only sorry that it will be months before the shows he wrote are finished airing.
Thanks for the info kathyj!

what? I thought we were getting rid of Dena. Ugh, she's still around. I don't have much faith for this show. I'm guessing this could be our last year. It's been so bad, but if Dena is the one in charge ... oh my!
So are we taking guesses about who is cut from the cast and/or back burned? My guesses are Steve, Kayla, Marlena, and/or John. They don't seem be to be Dena's favorites.

I do think the show has gotten better with more exciting stories but there is just too much darkness. So, if we can keep the excitement, subtract some of the darkness and gloom and add in some romance I think the show will be better.

I don't think the writers know what romance is...they keep promising more and yet it gets darker and darker. I haven't enjoyed any of these stories since Bo died except Kayla/Steve reconciling. Even then, Steve's rape was disgusting and the potential baby story was unnecessary.

Do we know which stories he was responsible for? If Dena's staying, wasn't she the head writer already?

Does anyone know when we'll have seen the last of Josh Griffin's handywork?

Does anyone know when we'll have seen the last of Josh Griffin's handywork? I read on Michael Fairman's site recently that Corday said the new writer's work will begin airing right after the two week hiatus for the Olympics in August.

If he is responsible for what's on screen now then August can't come soon enough.

Now seeing what's been unfolding for the last month or so, I'm actually kind of glad Josh Griffith is gone now because the show is so horrible right now. But I'm still not crazy about Dena Higley staying behind and I doubt the new headwriter is going to do much to bring positive changes to the show. I can't imagine how much worse this show may get with Higley & the new guy headlining the show but I feel like it might end up getting a lot worse before it gets better, if it even gets better. Be careful what you wish for. Honestly, I wish they just kept Beth Milstein on the headwriting team & let Dena Higley go.
