Wow, that's pretty big since it seemed like the show was ready to make Chad and Abby their next bit super couple. Will they just replace her? If so, you never know if the chemistry will be the same. I do think BF has great chemistry with everyone though.
This is not one of my favorite characters or actresses so I'm no crushed but I do know Chabby is popular so this shoud be interesting. Wonder what she's got going on now. Best of luck to her. I do think she's improved a lot lately.

I'm not surprised. The majority of the 20 something actors leave when their contract is up. They generally want to try to work in movies or prime time TV series.

I'm not disappointed because Abby is not one of my favorites but it seems really odd that she would be leaving when they are pushing Chad/Abby as a new couple. So I expect they will recast.
If not, I'm starting to worry about the future of the show since it seems to be one exit after another. I hope they don't kill Abby off too.

I think Kate is a decent actress but I'm not invested in her character. I liked the previous Abby better and would love it if she returned.

The actress who used to play Abby is one of those very few who've actually had success post-soap. She is still on Pretty Little Liars so I can't imagine she'd come back. She's on thru May. By then maybe some of the other returnees will have good stories going. Chloe will be back and who knows if they've got more people returning. |

I really don't care for Abigail so I'm not upset about her leaving. I am surprised tho since it appears Abby has been propped as part of the next big super coupel for quite some time now.

I am sorry to see Kate go, Abby is one of my favorite characters and I was hoping for a Chad-Abby power couple. I hope they recast though I will miss Kate and wish her all the best!

I'm kind of surprised at the news since Chad and Abby seem primed to be the new super couple. On the other hand I'm also not surprised since most actors her age leave after a certain point and she seemed reluctant to resign the last time. So although I feel bad for the Chabby fans, Abby needs a long break for a long while.
However, I doubt Abby will be recast right away considering the disaster with Guy Wilson/Will and there's a high probability that Chad and the new Abby might not have the same chemistry.
On the other hand, I won't be surprised if Abby does get killed off considering the writers' history for the last couple of months.
I'm also worried for Thomas. I really hope Chad gets custody of him because he's better off with his father.

I think Kate Mansi is wonderful so I am sad to see her go. I've been loving Abigail/Chad. It does seem like a strange time to leave when her character is poised to be half of the show's main super couple but I'm sure Kate has big plans ahead. It'll be interesting to see if the trend continues and Abigail is killed like every other character of if we get a reprieve from characters dying.

I feel like I should be really bothered by this, I hate abbys character so maybe that's why im not crushed

Kate Mansi confirmed her exit and issued a statement on Instagram.
katemansi I’ve kept quiet as long as I could, but since it seems news has leaked, I feel I owe it to you all to set the record straight. Alright… here it is:
After much thought, I’ve decided the timing was right for me to set sail from Salem. I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every single beautiful and messy moment of being Abigail, and will always treasure our time together. I want to be very clear in saying that this was not a decision I took lightly. It was important for me to see Abigail through the most recent storyline, as well as through the show's historic 50th anniversary celebration. I can confidently say that I poured everything I had into Abigail, especially this last year, and cannot wait for you to see what's coming! I also want to express how very proud I am to have had the privilege of being a part of this incredibly hard-working daytime community for the past five years. I am grateful beyond measure to the DOOL family, which I feel extends beyond our set, to you, the amazing, and unwavering fans. I thank you for all the support and love you've shown Abigail and me.

When I'm at work I usually go to msn.com to check the news during the day and I was kind of suprised this morning to see that one of the little headlines at the top under popular searches was "soap star leaving show," and it was a story about KM. Maybe it's because they are connected with NBC. I didn't really think it was that big of news.
