I haven't been able to find this on YouTube yet so this is just the link for now but I'm posting anyway because..OMG! I don't want either of the brothers to die no matter what they did.

Poor Maggie -- I can't believe the decision would be hers. But I guess she is the closest thing we have to Solomon in Salem.

Wow, that's powerful. This has the earmarks of good drama. I'm actually glad to see Maggie involved in this because she can do it justice. And I love it that Victor is there as her support. Thanks for posting wendylou.

Wow! This really does look like classic soap opera drama. Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) certainly has the chops to pull this off. I can't believe I'm actually feeling bad about losing Daniel. A year or so ago I would have been thrilled.
I also can't say I've been a huge fan of either Brady or Eric but now that Brady is connected to Theresa, I don't want him to die. Theresa needs him. She'll spiral at this point without him. I also, don't necessarily want Eric to die. He's been completely lost this year but I still think the character has a lot of potential...and could there eventually be a Nicole/Eric reunion in the future if Daniel is gone.
Oh my! I just realized that the decision is between John's son and Marlena's son. That can't be good for their marriage!
As painful as this story might be, I'm really interested in seeing how it all plays out.

Ugh, this really sucks. I would have to hate to choose between Brady and Eric, but I would definitely want Brady to live because not only does Theresa need him because he's essentially her rock, but Tate needs his father too. It's bad enough that Arianna has to grow up without a father but it would be even worse for another child under the age of 3 to lose a parent too. It would also be a double tragedy if Brady dies because it would be history repeating itself again since I think Brady was right around Tate's age when Isabella passed away. So yeah really awful on all levels.
On the other hand, I don't really want Eric to die either and it's a real travesty that he's been put through the ringer for the entire time he's been on the show and has never seemed to catch a break. It's so sad how his potential was wasted so badly and he's never gotten a fair chance. Too bad since I feel like his character has seemed to be utterly destroyed and there is no way he can come back from this now.
And oh man... I didn't think of the John/Marlena angle! I wonder if this might cause some serious problems in their marriage!

It occurred to me right away that the choice is between Marlena's son and John's son. I can imagine John speaking to Maggie and reminding him that Brady is a new father and not wanting Tate to grow up with only one parent, to sevenna92's point. If that happens, Marlena would be very upset. But someone's gonna lose here. If Eric was responsible for this crash and he happens to live, then he'll have lost his last friend (Nicole). She will never forgive him, or if she does, it will take a long time.

Yeah, if you look at it "on paper" and without emotion, Brady seems like the right choice. He's a father and has a new little family. Eric, on the other hand, is single AND on top of that, he seems to have caused all this by driving drunk. However, there are emotions involved and Eric does have family and friends who love him despite what he may have done. What a horrible choice.
Does it seem a bit crazy to anyone else that the injuries they both incurred cause them both to need heart transplants of all things?
I loved Eric so much in the beginning. I know a lot of people have grown tired of him but the poor guy has been abused and mistreated and has gotten almost no justice for what was done to him. Not to mention, no one has seemed to try to help him work through what was done to him. I just hate that he's now going to have this on him, whether he lives or dies.
That said, I think if he lives, he can be redeemed. He can get help and be forgiven. Chelsea ran over her own brother, a toddler, while driving like an idiot. People were able to forgive her for that. Eric and Nicole could even be together later. Falling in love with the man who killed your fiancé - definitely soapy.

I know that Eric is leaving but is Brady leaving too?

I don't think so. And Eric is still supposed to be around until Spring I thought.
Do we have to use spoiler tags since this is a spoiler thread? I will if I have to but I'm lazy.

Wow. So now Eric and Brady BOTH need a heart? I feel so bad for Maggie. But is it really up to her to make that decision? I thought that the doctors look at the survival & recovery odds to determine who receives the organ in situations like this.
I saw several mentions that Brady should be the recipient because of Theresa. I could not disagree more. If Brady should be the recipient because of any person at all, then it should be because of Tate....not because Theresa has gone all mush and unable to stand up for herself without a man by her side. There are many many women who lose their baby daddy that push forward with what needs to be done. If Theresa can't step up and be a good single mother to Tate without Brady's influence/pushing/urging/encouraging or whatever, then she never really got out of the "entitled, $ sign seeing" mode that she was in when she first got to Salem.
I'm not sure I could make the decision between Eric & Brady if I was in Maggie's shoes.

You are correct wendylou, no spoiler tags needed in this section. I agree mae00, Brady's relationship with Teresa is irrelevant in the decisionmaking process. But his status as a new father is something that should be considered. And yes, it is extremely weird that both men had accidents that left them needing a heart transplant. What a brutal crash that must have been.

Brady gave Maggie a juicer for Christmas. That may count against him in the heart contest.

I'm not sure if anyone has thought about Maggie being an alcoholic. To me that adds another layer to this story for her. I wonder if she will struggle to stay sober. What an irony that she will lose her son to a drunk driver.

Good point fluffysmom. I know Maggie is an alcoholic but I wasn't watching when she was actually drinking. Did she ever do anything like drink and drive? What was the worst thing she did as a result of it? An affair?
