So other then the BIG thing we know is going to happen, what else do you think might result from this big accident on NYE?

For some reason yesterday when I was watching everything going so well for Theresa, and Brady being so wonderful and professing his love, etc I thought, this probably means the accident will cause trouble for them. I know Melanie will come back after Daniel's death. I'm wondering if Brady will realize he still wants her or maybe even if he will have amnesia and go back to the time when he was with Melanie and forget about Theresa and Tate.

Also if he's hurt and has to go on pain killers that could be very bad for him with his addiction history.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I thought Melanie's return was a quick one for the funeral
I hope they don't start an addiction story again

my worry is that Greg Vaughan is still around for a short while
will they put him with Nicole only to have him leave the show again? I don't know what to think but my hope is for Nicole to grow from this, and I read she will lash out at jenn but im hoping its not going to be a new war

if eric was driving drunk he may need representation and maybe that's where a story for belle will come in? just a thought, id rather that than her and chad!

Today is my day to do recaps and I can tell you I am not looking forward to it.

I'm just glad that it appears as if Parker is not in harm's way.

If Eric's drunk driving causes the crash, this will be a huge blow for him and Marlena. He was the golden child who could do no wrong. He went from being pious to being a mess in no time flat. Wish he hadn't been offscreen so much after the Serena/Xander fiasco. Then we would have more motivation for his new drunkenness, and not just presume he went of the deep end because Nicole rejected him.

I am not looking forward to this either. So brokenhearted.

I think that Theresa and Brady may choose to live for the moment after this and move forward more quickly in their relationship. JJ and Gabi too, since JJ has now lost two people he loved within the space of a few months. I hope Eric will be arrested (no looking the other way because he's the son of the commissioner please) and have to face what he did and eventually go into rehab.

There are non-narcotic painkillers which are usually prescribed for people with a history of addiction, or at least that's my understanding. I expect that will happen for Brady because we've had way too many drug/alcohol stories and it's even worse that Daniel dies due to his friend's alcoholism after all he did to help JJ and Brady get off that same path.

We don't know for sure that Eric causes the crash (do we?). After all, I saw a spoiler about Nicole lashing out at Jennifer and Jennifer is the one shown in the clip. I would much rather have it be an accident.

If Eric kills someone as a result of drinking and driving that will be awful. I know it's wrong and he should be punished but wish someone, anyone, would have tried harder to help him. He was raped and the person who did it was never really brought to justice. It seemed to be the thing that prompted Eric to lose his purpose in life and re-think being a priest. Then there was that whole mess with Serena using him to get the diamonds. It's certainly understandable that he would be a mess after all of that. I know that no one else deserves to die because of his troubles but it will just be very sad if this is how it happens.

Here's my speculation:

I think the huge accident might cause some major problems in Theresa & Brady's relationship. Theresa might have such a hard time with Brady so horribly injured and Brady might develop a resentment towards her because he might feel she's not loyal to him and she doesn't love him.

Also with Melanie returning, I wonder if Brady might become torn between Melanie and Theresa and he feels he might have to ultimately make a choice. Of course, this is assuming Melanie's sticking around for the long term. If she isn't, then I doubt they go that route, at least not with her. We might end up getting a Chloe/Brady/Theresa love triangle since I doubt the writers might want to pair up Philip/Chloe and they might intend for Philip/Belle to be the rooting couple. I also hope Brady doesn't end up getting amnesia or falls back into addiction. Either option doesn't sound good. I just hope this accident doesn't spell the beginning of the end for Thrady. Can we have SOME couples stay together for a spell?

Also if Eric is responsible for Daniel's death and getting Brady seriously injured, I hope he gets the maximum amount of justice alloted to him. He really needs to be punished and not get away with the crime just because he's Roman Brady's son.

This is really just awful no matter how you look at it.
