Has anyone else had to link their Youtube account to a google account? I now have to do this in order to access my Youtube account and I was all set to do it until I got to the point that it wanted me to give them my phone number for account verification. I am extremely hesistant to give out my phone number. Has anyone else done this? How does it work? I don't want it to screw with my personal email account (a hotmail account) and chance having something happening to it because it is linked to my youtube.

I had to do that too! I was kind of annoyed so I just decided not to go through with teh setup. I should have a youtube account though.

It won't let me sign in to Youtube unless I create and link to a google account. Grrr.. I use the Youtube for the website that my husband and I own and run to post our videos from the races that we run, so I need to get it working but it just annoys me to no end that I have to create an account I don't want or need.

It recently made me do the same thing but luckily I already had a google account so it wasn't as big of a deal. I would have been a bit annoyed otherwise too.
