Just noticed that there really isn't a thread for Star Wars here, so I decided to make one! Personally, I LOVE Star Wars! I remember seeing the special edition rereleases of the originals when I was six years old. I just saw the new one today, and it was awesome! I shan't say anything about it, in case others haven't seen it. If I had to rank all seven (so far) from best to worst, the list would probably be something like this: - The Empire Strikes Back
- The Force Awakens
- Return of the Jedi
- Star Wars (The Original, also known as A New Hope)
- Revenge of the Sith
- Attack of the Clones
- The Phantom Menace

We plan to see the new movie during Christmas break. My husband could tell you exactly which theater he saw each of the movies at. It will be fun to take the girls.
Monica introduced a friend to Star Wars a few weeks ago. Last night she took Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi to a sleepover at her friend's house.

We saw The Force Awakens today André DiMera. It was great! I'd like to see it again but I'll wait for the DVD.

Force Awakens was spectacular! Loved every second of it. It doesn't surprise me all that much that it only took 12 days to surpass a billion dollars gross. On track to break the record set my Avatar for highest grossing of all time!

I loved the movie! It was pretty good and Finn was a surprisingly good character. I thought he was much stronger than Rey although I liked her too. I even liked the villains in the movie, including Kylo Ren and I thought he was scary.

I ended up getting the iTunes copy of "The Force Awakens" on Tuesday. I'm hoping to get a physical copy of it for my birthday.
A few days ago, the trailer for the first of a trilogy of tie-in films was released. These three films aren't considered "Episodes" in that sense, rather they take place between various films. The first one, for which the trailer was just recent released, is called "Rogue One", and seems to take place between "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope". Below is the trailer:

Thank you André DiMera! I saw the trailer last week and couldn't figure out why no one from the last film was in it!

Some of the possible movie ideas I've heard are Han Solo's past and a movie about Boba Fett.

Monica's school had a Star Wars movie night last Friday. There was a costume contest too.

Very cool! Did Monica dress up as any Star Wars characters?
I've not heard about the Boba Fett one, though that would be cool. I have heard they're working on the casting for the Han Solo movie.

Monica wore a black Darth Vader t-shirt with a black skirt and long black cape. Sami wore a Princess Leia costume. We've had it so long that it's now just below the knee instead of floor length.

I've only kind of, sort of been interested in Star Wars. Last night, I watched Episode VII, The Force Awakens. Oh. My. Word! It felt just like that night in 1977 when my mom, knowing how much I loved Star Trek, talked me into going to see a science-fiction movie that was going to redefine science-fiction movies. It was great! Then I went to see Empire Strikes Back. I was sad that the sequel curse had struck. Then came the Ewoks, er, I mean, Return of the Jedi. And a whole lot of years passed before the next wave, which, try as I might, disappointed me even more. So I refused to care about the franchise anymore. But hubby recorded The Force Awakens to the DVR and convinced me last night to give it a chance. Most surprising, is how unspoiled I was. I had not heard about Han Solo's death. That was quite a shock.
