I'm playing catch-up on the episodes and watching Wednesday 12/16.
I know I've seen somewhere the conversation about Hope being set up but can't find it.
I think that it's Lani that is setting Hope up. Lani has been interested in Rafe from day one but he hasn't returned those feelings citing that they work together. However, he obviously has some pretty strong feelings for Hope despite that very same fact.....even Bo saw it. When Lani brought the ballistics results back, Rafe was shocked by how quick they were ready and when Rafe was questioning Hope, Lani was there and didn't look very happy at all. Hope made the comments about it belonging to ONE of her guns. How many guns does she have and how did they get a hold of it without a warrant? The only weapon that I know of that Hope didn't have in her possession is her service weapon, which Lani would have had access to because Hope had to hand that over to Roman.
I find it odd that Rafe would question Hope about her whereabouts and what is going on with Lani present. He should know that Hope is not going to reveal information with a virtual stranger in the room.

Interesting POV mae00I won't lie and said I went straight for the DiMera's setting her up only cuz its sort of the go to on this show I never thought of Lani but I suppose it gives her a purpose other than being Abe's long lost daughter which they've done nothing with this story, it was a quick reveal and it was over. I thought they would have shown her with Theo more and bonding etc. not sure how I feel about her setting up Hope but maybe this will break in her character and make her less dull!

The DiMera's were my first thought too (and usually are LOL!). But I just couldn't piece together their involvement for wanting the serum....other than its potential to be a huge windfall....but it's not a guarantee and unless they have Dr. Rolf stashed in one of the underground tunnels, it holds an even higher risk of them losing more than what Sami stole.

I don't think it's Lani. I don't get a villainous vibe from her.

I don't think Lani cares about the serum, but I could see her using Hopes anger and pervious actions towards Malcolm to her advantage. There's just something about her I can't put my finger on.
