Well, this is tragic. Can't say I'm surprised at this point. Eric's barely been on lately and with him having no story I figured it was only a matter of time before he was gone. He's been wasted so much on this show and I figured the writers just weren't interested in him.

I was never interested in this actor as Eric so I am not overly upset about this
I always like Jensen Ackles so no offense to this guy but once I have one person in my head I don't accept anyone else for certain characters!

I'm sad about this. I didn't like a lot of what they did with Eric. The old writers did a real number on him by making him so.high and mighty and looking down on Nicole forever, and the new writers didn't do much better with this apparent alcoholism story they're starting when they could have put him with Eve instead of this senseless Justin/Eve combo.
I just hope they don't kill him off. We've had enough tragedy for s lifetime recently.

I'm not a bit surprised by this. Eric hasn't really done anything since the Kristen/rape storyline and they really wrote him into a corner with the way that story was wrapped up. There was some missed potential there.

I'm not suprised. As I posted in other theads, he was clearly unhappy with the direction of his character and I don't blame him. This show had a very popular pairing in Eric and Nicole and they destroyed it for NOTHING!
The only reason I am surprised is because I thought he had just signed a new contract.
I personally think this was a major screw up on the part of the show's creators.

(BRB, I need to go throw up.) I'm not surprised by this. Eric/Greg has no storyline. His character is going no where. Hopefully he'll find success elsewhere. Sadly, I think we need a break from Eric to learn to like him again. I hated the sanctimonious, judgmental shrew he became. |

So looks like Eric's leaving in mid-April. I wonder how long it'll take for several members of his family to notice that he's descending further into alcoholism. It would be nice if Brady could help him, especially since Eric tried to help him when he was deep into drugs & alcohol. In either case this is very sad. I wonder how badly things might end for him.

I've also heard about one other actor possibly leaving but I'm not sure I trust the source, since I've only seen it in one place with no confirmation, so I'm not posting it.

I'm surprised he's getting a big exit story. Eric has been in the background for awhile so I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd simply left town.

Hmm. Well, after reading the interview, I'm guessing he kills someone driving drunk or something and either goes away or goes to treatment. He sort of mentions someone having to die but later says Eric is off canvas but not gone so I don't think Eric is the one to die. As much as I hate it, I wouldn't mind so much seeing him leave for a while and then come back. Goodness knows, others do it all the time and it flies by.
I hate for Eric to go thru that as I feel the character has really been so abused already with no justice. If he does kill someone that would be awful but on this show people are forgiven for that all the time. Interesting that of all the people in his final scene, Missy Reeves is there too. The rest are Eric's family so I wonder if they do have some sort of relationship.
