^^ That's why Philip got recast so fast. TPTB knew they needed someone who could carry a major storyline. I really wish I hadn't rewatched though. It made me strongly dislike Chloe. All the times Philip said ILY and Chloe said nothing back. My heart ached for Philip. It wasn't so bad when I was watching it back in the day. But now...ugh...I cannot stand it. And every time I see an old Phloe scene now...I just think that Chloe doesn't deserve him at all. I guess for me I can't look back. Phloedays (shi22) just uploaded this to YouTube. Chloe finally says she loves Philip. Unfortunately she didn't say it to Philip, but she explains why she has trouble expressing emotions. (Start at the 6:30 mark if you don't have time to watch the whole thing.)

They meant for her character to end up with Brady the whole time. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

No they didn't mean for Chloe to end up with Brady the whole time. In Corday's own words, phloe was always the plan.

No they didn't mean for Chloe to end up with Brady the whole time. In Corday's own words, phloe was always the plan. No way am I buying that. I knew from the very first Brady and Chloe scene they were going to end up together. I continued to watch, but I knew with certainty who would "win" in the end. They painted Philip as the bad guy (a role he was stuck in until about 2008. He was the guy the good man had to go up against to get the girl. Like during Phelle/Shelle ) and Brady as the hero with Chloe and in the K family - he is John Black's son. Of course he was getting the girl. You can tell by how things were written....Brady and Chloe were building a connection while Chloe and Philip kept being put in these "angsty" situations that threatened their relationship. And Corday has clearly shown he is not all that in tuned to the creative going ons of his own show. He spews inaccurate crap all the time, and he is very known to say things just to appease fanbases. Brady and Chloe were singing showtunes...to DAYS that is high romance. Of course they were getting together.

When Jay gave his notice over a year in advance, that's when they went with broe in full force and painted Philip as the bad guy. Before that, it wasn't obvious they were going with Broe. Honestly, it wouldn't have been one of the biggest triangles this show had ever seen if people knew from the very beginning broe was going to win.

Honestly, it wouldn't have been one of the biggest triangles this show had ever seen if people knew from the very beginning broe was going to win. Well people may not have known. But I am really good at reading soaps. My record at calling things in advance is really really high. Probably since I have been watching since first grade. So the show may have thought they were writing the two pairs even...but they weren't. There were tons of clues, besides Philip getting all intense, that showed that Brady had an advantage over Philip. And these clues were there from the first Broe scenes, before Jay gave any notice. Maybe it was as simple as the writers liked writing for Brady/Chloe more. It happens, writers play favorites. Just like writers revise history to make things work for current story. But even knowing that the show intended to do Phloe doesn't make it easier for me to watch old clips. They made Chloe more free and expressive with Brady, and left poor Philip feeling alone in his love. For that I will never forgive the show.
