Starting a new thread of Philip during the teen years.... Jay as Philip joined the show in 2000 ... Philip was beat up and his face was disfigured due to gambling debts...

Wasn't it 1999?Anyhow,it's not fair that he even looks good in a hospital gown,lol.It's hard to imagine that Jay was actually a recast.He's probably one of the best recasts the show has ever had :)Thank you JF for starting this thread for those of us who loved teen Philip

Thanks jaysfan for a unique new thread. I love that you got the slide that announced a different actor was playing the part of Philip, an actor who would become our one and only Philip.

It amazes me how quickly he became Philip.Honestly he became my favorite very quickly.

I can't even remember who was Philip before JKJ. I guess I don't remember at all.

It was Christmas 1999 .. for the scenes where he was beat up and disfigured, so you are right... but he really became Philip in 2000!!!

They used to be on youtube. I rewatched the entire Phloe story on youtube a few years back. I think that person took the videos down though.

I really wish I hadn't rewatched though. It made me strongly dislike Chloe. All the times Philip said ILY and Chloe said nothing back. My heart ached for Philip. It wasn't so bad when I was watching it back in the day. But now...ugh...I cannot stand it. And every time I see an old Phloe scene now...I just think that Chloe doesn't deserve him at all. I guess for me I can't look back.

I really don't mind looking back.I find the contrast interesting.He was very sweet as a teen,then had his jealous faze,went off to war,and came back not quite playing with a full deck,which I found interesting,then he meets Mel,falls for her and becomes totally sweet again.

I guess love and acceptance lets Philip show his sweet side. Other times he was so guarded because of past pain (including Chloe). I do agree it was nice watching his coldness thaw out this past few years. Jay did a good job showing that.

I think Jay does a great job showing any emotion Philip goes through.What I really love is that he doesn't just show the emotion,but he shows WHY Philip's feeling it.

He definitely understood his character that is for sure. And I love that he improved his skills when he was away from DOOL.

I am trying so hard not to be selfish - I want him to have all the success in the world - but....I WANT HIM BACK AT DAYS!!!
