Anyone else extremely disappointed with the final scenes in today's episode? While from a direction point of view I thought it was pretty good with the back and forth between characters and the music playing but gimme a break! Philip is not in the room with his WIFE when she gets the news that she miscarried?!?!?!?! And yet that numnuts Nathan is in there playing the doting stalker?! Come on!! The way Nathan sat beside Melanie holding her hand and comforting her was just so disgusting. Why in the hell wasn't Philip like get the F outta here, I'll be the one to comfort my wife! I'm glad Philip gave Kate more flak about her part in all of this saying if something happens to Mel or the baby Kate is partially to blame. Even if that's not necessarily true I don't blame Philip one bit for thinking it's Kate's fault. Kate has gone about this whole thing like a viper not caring who got hurt in the process as long as Chloe gets trashed in the end. What did you all think?

I did think it was kind of weird that Nathan was in the room when she was told and that Philip was with Kate, however, I thought they did a great job with the scenes. The directing was amazing and the acting was amazingly done too. The music playing was so beautiful!
I have heard that Melanie doesn't want anything to do with Philip now. That she refused to let him in the room...maybe this is something that is supposed to come after the miscarriage? that she doesn't want to see him and sticks by Nathan's side......

I haven't seen the show yet, but I will say I knew all along (but especially once the L word was uttered in the hospital that day Nathan was dreaming) that Philip was going to get royally "you know what"ed by Melanie and her need for Nathan. :shudders: I just do not get it.
Melanie being naive where Kate was concerned. Fool. She poisoned an apple for God's sake and Melanie thought she'd play fair with her? I am laughing so hard I am peeing my pants Kate has no conscience. It one of the things I love about Kate, she's unapologetic about her "bad"ness. That and she has great lines

I really liked the ending....I think it was a perfect way to show her miscarriage.....although I also wondered why isn't Philip in with Melanie, it was better in my opinion to show them separate....they are separate, their marriage and relationship has been split. They will have separate lives now that the baby is gone and I think it was the best way to show that....and Melanie's parent tells her of the tragedy and Philip's parent tells him.....Melanie will move on with the help and support of her family and Philip will move on with the, oh crap, his family is Kate....kind of blows that nice little thought doesn't it......

LOL I agree again, PAllison. I thought it was kind of weird that they separated Melanie and Philip, but when I think back on it, maybe that was showing that now they are split and baby is gone, they are going to stay split. There is no working on the relationship for these two. With JKJ leaving now, I think showing them separately was good. I just loved these scenes. They had me bawling like a baby and totally feeling for Melanie. They should have showed Philip's reaction a little more but, I think they were nicely done.

I thought it was a little weird that Nathan was clutching her hand right before Daniel came in to deliver the bad news. I didn't mind so much that Mel and Philip were in different rooms at that moment but I hope to see Philip rushing into the room in the first scene tomorrow.

I liked the way they played the song while the bad news was being delivered. Very prime-timey. Very dramatic. I actually hated it when Melanie cried when she saw her daddy. I wanted to see an emotional scene like that between Philip and Melanie. Lately, I see no connection between the two of them. They seem like very different people from the couple who was living in Maggie's house last fall. The look on Philip's face when Kate let him know about the baby was perfect. Brief, but perfect.

Look I know I am a minority on this, but Nathan & Mel do care about each other and him being there to support her was very sweet. All he did was hold her hand, he didn't molest her for goodness sakes. If the show hadn't ended when it did, the next scene Philip probably would have come in the room also.

Minorities are welcome here! I don't think it was weird that Nathan was there, I just thought it was too bad Philip wasn't there at that moment. And I'm with you. I bet the first thing we see tomorrow is Philip rushing in to see Melanie.

While the scenes were well done,I wish we'd seen Philip and Melanie dealing with this news.I would have enjoyed a little more emotion from Philip as well.Although every actor did well.I'm none too thrilled that again,Nathan was in what I view,Philip's spot.

Remember when Nicole lost her baby. That was drama! I know we only saw the beginning of Melanie finding out, but it made me think about what happened to Nicole and how gut-wrenching that was. Somehow I don't think Melanie's loss will be played as tragic as Nicole's was.
