doolfan4life I don't like Dan because the show has not only consistently shoved him down our throats by shoving him in nearly every story but he tends to have a nasty and arrogant attitude and he also often gets very physical with women. Not to mention that he's treated Nicole and many other women horribly more than once. And everybody treats him like he's the demi-god of Salem and he's their savior and that's just annoying to me. In short, the guy's an all around sleaze bag and I am so glad he's leaving. Too bad for Nicole that she'll suffer heartache once more though.

hmm I guess I never looked at it that way but I suppose you're right when I think back I always thought he treated Jen really bad and also Nicole he is a sleaze when you think about it, when he first came to the show it was Chelsea he was after and she was way too young for him, then he went for Kate who was way too old, not to mention Chloe who was married to Kate's son when they started that affair! also Kristin?! what was that about.... good point!

Daniel is one of my heroes. I don't agree that he's nasty and arrogant at all, sorry. He is empathetic, kind, and helpful even at his own expense. Sometimes his desire to help is a little compulsive though. He also believes in taking risks and following his own heart and own morals, even if people disapprove. All that is also why he and Nicole are a great match.
I also don't think Daniel ever treated Jen badly. Jen, however, sure treated Daniel badly!

I Don't see that she treated him badly, she reacted to him being secretive regardless of what he was up to if he's serious about her he should always trust her with the truth he would get pretty cold with her because she questioned him and truth is anyone in that scenario with half a brain would question that kind of thing he had his good points about his character too but over all I think he was a bit sleazy, and judgmental at times which was interesting coming from him also before Nicole almost got killed he was down right nasty to her, no wonder she was insecure for me I'm sort of half way on this, I'm not sad to see him go but I'm not breaking out a happy dance either I guess I could care less!

doolfan4life Not to hijack the thread but I saw it more as Jennifer expecting to know things that were none of her business, comparable to the stupidity where Hope expected Aiden to share confidential client sessions, and refusing to accept that she was not privy to such things. Plus she was constantly accusing Daniel of all sorts of horrible and ridiculous things. Its easy to forget how terrible the writing for Jen was during that period because she is much improved now!

I believe it is based on opinion cuz I didn't read it that way at all And I definitely don't think it wasn't her business She Invited Nicole to live in her house mean while Nicole was in over her head lying about carrying a dimera baby She had a right to know and Daniel in my opinion gave up dr patient confidentiality when he helped Nicole lie about it it's not ethical nor is it legal If he didn't want to tell Jenn he should have arranged other living arrangements for Nicole If I was with a man who was risking his job and looking at serious charges for another woman you damn right I'd be asking questions
And when JJ was in trouble he was under her roof she had a right to know that he was in trouble and he was helping him out where I read he coldly told her to stay away from Parker and continued to nose in her kids life I agree he was trying to do a noble thing for Nicole and JJ but his delivery sucked and that's where I start to not care for his character Plus I always thought he was a sleaze after Chelsea she was in high school and he's old enough to be an experienced and well respected doctor but everyone told Bo he was wrong to over react My dad would pulled me by the hair and dragged me to another country Ewww

For better or worse, JJ was an adult at the time. What he wanted his mother to know was HIS choice, not Daniel's place to tell. JJ told when he wanted to and was proud of himself for it. And the fact is that being able to trust Daniel to keep his business confidential was part of what JJ needed in order to confide in him and stay off drugs. Jen was jealous for no reason and behaved in a way that made it clear exactly why her adult son did not wish to confide in her. She did not, at the time, care about JJ's well-being, only that she be the one he turn to, and she acted to cut off his support. She was the one wrong.
As for Nicole at the time Daniel was trying to help her get out of an abusive relationship. Might not have been ethical on the surface but was definitely the ethical thing to do. I love Daniel because he follows his morals not just what others believe is right.

doolfan4life, heroicmuse and sevenna92, fyi I moved the debate about Daniel out of the Date is Set thread to keep that one on topic. Carry on. I'm not a Daniel fan. I don't mind him so much anymore because they did a decent job of redeeming him. But but he's never been a favorite.

I like Shawn Christian, but I don't like Daniel. There was never a need for the character, and the show just kept shoving him down or throats. The character just doesn't work, and never has. I am glad we are currently seeing less of him.

My problem with Daniel was that he and Melanie came to Salem and hijacked the show. Multiple characters were sacrificed for them.
I like Daniel when he isn't involved in every single storyline.

this is why I say it's all opinion For me JJ was not an adult he was a high school teenager in trouble for substance abuse so Jenn as far as I'm concerned had a right to know what was happening under her roof and was right to confront it that way And Nicole being in an abusive realationship my opinion is it doesn't excuse breaking the law and doesn't make it ethical Her helping Nicole could have gotten her in trouble with the dimeras when they already hate her for being a horten He could have told her before Nicole moved in when she asked questiones to decide if she really wanted to be put in that situation And Nicole wasn't innocent either so that's why i agreed with Jenn on how she handled it But again everyone does things differently and view it differently I agree him and Melanie hijacked the show I also think I guy who sleeps with a teenager and then leaves her for her grandmother and cheats on the grandmother with the sons wife then fools around with his best friends psycho ex is a bit far fetched for me to try and redeem They have often referenced him as being hurt too many times but they forget who he's hurt I personally didn't care for Jenn and Daniel anyways so I was glad it didn't work out but not once did I think she was nosy and irrational For me he was a hypocrite I also note that there are a lot of characters I like that others don't I understand why ppl might not In this case I don't hate Daniels character so much as this is y I didn't care about his character
