Today we watched the Friday Night Fight episode from season 6. Emily, Richard, Lorelei and Rory were arguing and occasionally laughing as they worked through many issues.

Fantastic! I'm so glad they're doing this again! And that Scott Patterson (Luke) is hosting! I'm kinda hoping they show the four specials, but I doubt they will, since those are Netflix/DVD exclusives. Either way, it's great to be able to rewatch some of my favorite Gilmore Girls episodes!
Which leads me into an interesting question. For those of you out there who watch, what are some of your favorite Gilmore Girls episodes?

Great question André DiMera . I have lots of favorites. I love the two episodes where Richard had his heart attacks. I know that sounds weird but they were very emotional and showcased various relationships, and Emily — who may be my favorite character — was heartbreaking in both instances. I loved all the episodes when Lorelai and Luke were a couple. I loved Wedding Bell Blues — Emily and Richard's vow renewal. The Prodigal Daughter returns was awesome. I loved the part where Emily "looked at a plane" after Rory moved out. My all-time favorite scene may just be the one in Friday Night's Alright for Fighting when Rory, Lorelai, Emily and RIchard have it out at Friday Night dinner.

Oh my goodness! The Friday night dinner fight was one of the best scenes! As for some of my favorite episodes, I enjoyed The Incredible Sinking Lorelais. I know that may seem odd, but I thought the set up of the episode was really well executed, how Rory and Lorelai kept trying to get in contact, but always seemed to just miss each other, and by the end, they were both too tired to talk. I also really enjoyed Christopher Returns. Although I later grew to dislike him, Christopher’s introduction was great! Both Rory’s high school and Yale graduations always get to me. And I agree, Kpatch, that the two episodes where Richard has a heart attack were good. I particularly enjoyed the first one, where Emily demands that Richard let her go first. In retrospect, that episode is so sad, since Edward Hermann passed away a few years ago. Also, one of my other scenes (which gets a spiritual sequel in the Netflix reunion specials) is Lorelai’s two dreams about (the real) Paul Anka. I also really love the music of Gilmore Girls! Particularly Grant Lee Phillips, who plays the Town Troubadour. I did a complete rewatch of the series earlier this year, and one of the songs he performed really got to me. It’s called Mona Lisa. Check it out.

Gilmore Girls was a great show. I haven't seen any of the revival episodes but I'm glad it still has such a following. Lorelei dreaded those Friday night dinners didn't she lol.

I really didn't much like the first season, except for Rory's budding romance with Dean. I didn't like Lorelai with Max at all, nor did I like the horrible way Lorelai treated Christopher when he came to visit or how cavalier she was about the whole hookup on her parent's balcony.

I really enjoyed any episode with a focus on Emily. I'm looking forward to watching the revival episodes soon.

I can kind of see where you’re coming from, Kpatch. I feel the first season is very hit-and-miss. Because everything was completely new about it, I feel the show took a while to find its footing. There are some wonderful scenes in the first season, though, and enough people at the time must have liked it for it to continue. Something I found rather interesting is, if you watch the early episodes in season one, Lorelai has her arm around Rory a lot. That was partly scripted as a mother/daughter thing, but it was also because Gilmore Girls was Alexis Bledel’s first major acting role, and Lauren Graham was helping her make sure she hit her mark correctly. I read about that in Graham’s autobiography, “Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything In Between)”. It’s a really good book!
