Chapter 5
DORM ROOM
SYDNEY: More than friends?
LILITH: Definitely more than friends.
SYDNEY: In what sense?
LILITH: In every sense. We were lovers. We were intimate.
CERI: Stop right there. That is a lie. Maybe you had a thing for me, but it was not reciprical.
LILITH: Well, you seemed to enjoy it when we did it.
CERI: Oh, please, Lilith, give me a break. The most we ever did was kiss.
SYDNEY: So, you guys were close.
LILITH: Very.
SYDNEY: That's strange, because Ceri's never mentioned you.
LILITH: What?
SYDNEY: Never at all. I've never even heard your name until tonight. And, if you guys were really as close as you say you are, I'm pretty sure Ceri would have mentioned you.
LILITH: You...you never mentioned me? Not even once?
SYDNEY: Nope. Never.
CERI: Right, well, I think maybe it's time for you to leave, Lil.
LILITH: Hell no. I didn't come halfway around the world just to have the door slammed in the face by my ex-girlfriend.
SYDNEY: Lilith, whatever happened between you and Ceri is in the past. Ceri and I are going to be married in two weeks. Now, I suggest you do what my fiance said, and leave.
LILITH: Shove off, love. This is nothing to do with you. This is between Ceri and me.
Sydney walked up to Lilith, very calmly. She put a hand on Lilith's shoulder.
SYDNEY: Lilith, you seem like a nice girl. A very nice girl. I'm sure I'd love to know more about you at some point. But, right now, I have a question for you. Have you ever heard of the DiMera family?
LILITH: Yes. Of course I have. Who hasn't?
SYDNEY: Okay. Here's something you should know about me. I'm Stefano's granddaughter. His only granddaughter.
Lilith gulped and took a step back.
SYDNEY: Now, I never really knew my grandfather. He died when I was living in LA. with my mom. But, I did grow up under one of his more ruthless sons, E.J., or Elvis DiMera.
Lilith stepped back further.
SYDNEY: Yeah. So, if you're trying to make me feel threatened by you, you should probably know, it's never gonna work. Because, if there's one thing I learned having E.J. as a father and Sami Brady as a mother, it's how to fight back.
LILITH: Right...well, I'll keep that in mind. Um, perhaps Ceri's right. Maybe I should just go for now. I'll, uh, I'll catch up with you later, Ceri.
Lilith made a hasty retreat.
CERI: Wow! I am impressed.
Sydney did a curtsy.
SYDNEY: Thank you.
She wrapped her arms around Ceri and kissed her.
CERI: I'm so sorry about all that.
SYDNEY: It's okay. Look, I know that whatever happened between you two was a long time ago. Way before we ever met. And, I'm cool with it.
CERI: Really?
SYDNEY: Really. I know that you guys were super close, and that you used to practice kissing with each other, and that she's the one who helped you figure out that you like girls. But, like I said, you've also told me that that was a long time ago.
CERI: It was.
SYDNEY: I know. And, in a way, I'm actually kind of grateful to Lilith.
CERI: Seriously?
SYDNEY: Yeah. Think about it this way: if Lilith had never help you discover that you like girls, you and I probably wouldn't be about to be getting married in two weeks.
CERI: You are an amazing fiance, you know that?
SYDNEY: No, you're the amazing one.
CERI: No, you are.
SYDNEY: No, you are.
Ceri and Sydney drew each other into a passionate kiss. After the kiss, the two sat down, and Sydney laid her head on Ceri's shoulder, and kissed her several times on the neck.
CERI: I love you.
SYDNEY: I love you.
