Some nice character development on Monday's show.
Vivian Vivian told Quinn she felt maternal toward him. She showed how much she regretted not being around to raise Quinn. Hard to believe she would keep a gift for him for 20 years and conveniently be carrying it around no matter where in the world she went. At first I thought that baseball cards was a silly gift, but then she explained that she wanted to give Quinn a piece of his American heritage. And it was pretty touching. Which brings me to ...
Quinn He was obviously touched by the gift of the baseball cards. I like that we got a little backstory today, learning that he was interested in American baseball, but his father disapproved, yet he found a way to listen to the games anyway. He clearly felt a connection with Vivian and some ambivalence about what to do with Carly, Vivian's mortal enemy. These scenes were very well acted.
Gus Poor Gus is feeling like the odd man out. He can't compete with Vivian's son and he is acting like a petulant child. But I love him anyway.
What did you all think of these scenes?

I kinda liked em. I like that we are getting to understand Quinn a little more.

I am a little surprised by Quinn's compassion. I am very curious to see how this plays out. I still don't think he totally trusts Vivian or wants to.

I think Quinn has a (twisted) sense of morality...I think he genuinely believes in helping people and doing things for the right reasons. I do think that he's an interesting guy...

I liked the scenes. I enjoyed getting some insight into his childhood and Vivian's trying to be a small part of his life back then. I can't blame Gus for being out of sorts. He got pushed aside in favor of Quinn. I suspect TPTB are trying to add some depth and a nicer side to Quinn for his future storyline. It will be interesting to see what they do with him after Vivian, Carly and Chloe are gone.

While the insights into Quinn are nice, I find Vivian and Gus to be wastes of space at this point. It's kind of hard to get too invovled with them when we know *spoiler alert* they'll be leaving.

^^^^ I'm having that problem with many of the soon to be departing characters.

All I can think of with the Gus scenes is "Gloomy Gus." I feel bad for him, but really I just want to see Vivian's outfits and when Quinn is going to release Chloe from sex slavery.
