Posting this here because it contains spoilers, but I just saw an interview on Michael Fairman's site with the actor who plays Ben. He basically says that he's playing it as if Ben has two personalities and that Ben is very definitely the killer. He also talks a little about what's to come, as well as to why Ben killed the people he did.
