I had a tough time picking between John and Jack. I'm excited about both their returns for different reasons. I look forward to the interaction between John and Brady. When they recast Eric Martsolf in the role of Brady I thought he made the perfect son to John and looked forward to their interaction onscreen. That didn't last very long since J & M were sent packing soon after.

As to Jack, I've always enjoyed Jack and Jen but I really hope it's a good storyline. Right now, it just seems so predictable the way it's going to turn out with his return so while I look forward to seeing Matt Ashford again, I hope the writers have a great story planned for Jack and not just the same ole, same ole.

In the end, I chose John.

I really like John a lot as a stand alone character. I'm not a huge fan of John and Marlena together as a couple. Right now I feel like I'm on Drake and Dee overload with all the promoting the show is doing with these two. I can't go anywhere on the daytime royalty board without seeing a new interview or some kind of news involving these two. I was looking forward to John coming back to interact with Brady but right now with all the hype that John and Marlena are getting I am starting to feel like they are going to be taking over the show once again. I don't want to watch the John and Marlena hour once Days does their reset on September 26 and I hope that other characters on the show get an equal amount of airtime besides these two. I don't want to see the show go back to the 80's and 90's, I would rather see the show move forward with fresh ideas and storylines.

I also can't wait to see Jack but I don't want to see the show take the easy way out and have him kidnapped by the Dimeras. I would rather see some other kind of explanation played out for his disappearance and see Jack and Jen really work hard to find their way back to each other.

I honestly could care less about the other returns. Austin/Carrie are so boring and I would have rather had the show bring back someone else in their place. Hopefully this time around they won't be so boring.

OMG, you have to check out JKJPatch's latest story "Living Dangerously" - Days may "take the easy way" but she isn't

And I agree about the overkill on Drake/Dee articles lately; it's adding to my concern that Days has still not learned the key lesson of needing to have an ENSEMBLE cast. Perhaps if we had the word written in the sky above the studio...
