Chapter 10

CAR
Shawn-D, Belle, Philip and Jay had been riding in the car for a long time.
JAY: So, where are we, anyway?
SHAWN-D: Definitely the south, just not sure what part.
BELLE: What happened to the map?
PHILIP: Well...

BROADWAY HOTEL – NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK
JACK: Look, you don't suck. You're not a horrible person. In my opinion, you're just a kid who's made some mistakes. I know you're an adult, but still. So, you've made some mistakes. Everybody does. And, you regret the mistakes that you've made. You're not a bad person, though, J.J. A bad person wouldn't feel regret for the mistakes he has made. Like I said, a lot of the stuff that's happened to you lately has been completely beyond your control.
J.J.: Just like this. If Days is canceled, I'll never have a chance to make up for what I've done.
JACK: You already have. Look, I know you don't think you were worthy of Paige, but you're wrong. Eve, and Daphne, and Mary Beth and all of the other people who tried to make you think that you weren't worthy of her were wrong. You and Paige were amazing together. You two were my favorite supercouple. And I know I'm not the only one who thinks that way.
J.J.: Then why do I feel so alone?
Jack hugged J.J.
JACK: You're not alone. There are so many people who care about you and want to support you. So many people who are rooting for you.
J.J.: Thank you.
JACK: Look, no matter what happens, you will always have people who care about you.
J.J.: That's...that's really good to know. Thanks.
JACK: No problem.
Jack wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to J.J.
JACK: Here's my number. If you ever need to talk to somebody, I'm here.
J.J.: Thanks.
J.J. took a deep breath.
J.J.: So, now what?
JACK: Now, we go out there and try our best to save Days. And, once we've done that, I'll show you how many people there are that care about you. Come on.
Jack and J.J. headed out of the hotel room.

CAR
SHAWN-D: You lost the map?!
PHILIP: Look, it was at that truck stop in Joplin. I had put it down under the menus, the waitress must have picked it up by accident.
BELLE: Great. Now what?
Jay pointed ahead.
JAY: Well, that sign's for a farm crossing. If there's a farm crossing, there must be a farm nearby. Maybe we could stop there and ask for directions.

NBC STUDIOS – BURBANK, CALIFORNIA
Marlena had just gotten in and was sitting in the waiting room. She sent a text to Shawn-D, Belle, Philip, Brady, Theresa and J.J. Meanwhile, a guard was walking through the hall. He passed the real Diedre Hall and stopped.
GUARD: Miss Hall?
DIEDRE: Yes?
GUARD: How is it that you're there, when you're in the waiting room for the boss?
DIEDRE: I have no idea what you mean.
GUARD: You'd better come with me.
The guard led Diedre to the waiting room where Marlena was sitting. Both Marlena and Diedre gasped.
DIEDRE: Well, this is a bit of a shock.

So glad that Jack was able to get through to JJ. Wonder if he will show JJ the posts on MyHourglass or if he will take him out to meet some fans.

Too funny at the guys losing the map. Really surprised that a guy mentioned stopping to ask directions, I thought that would have come from Belle.

Wonder how this interaction with Marlena and Diedre is gonna go.

I'm glad JJ has a friend and can finally get some of the support he needs.

LOL at asking for directions mae00. Too bad no one has their GPS.

Loved the Jack/JJ scene. I think Jack is the perfect person to help with JJ's self-esteem issues.

FARM – ARKANSAS
The car pulled up to a farm.
SHAWN-D: Right, here we are. Who wants to go up?
JAY: I'll go.
Jay got out of the car, walked up to the house at the beginning of the driveway, and knocked on the door. A woman with long, red hair and blue eyes opened the door.
BRI: Yes? Can I help you?
JAY: Hi, miss. Sorry to bother you, I'm...
BRI: Jay Kenneth Johnson. I recognize you from Days of Our Lives. And, it's not bother.
JAY: Oh, cool. Well, my friends and I have stopped here because we're kind of lost. We're trying to save Days, and we've kind of forgotten to pack the map. Do you happen to know where we can find the nearest airport?
BRI: Certainly. I'm Brianna, by the way. You can call me, Bri. Come on in.
JAY: Thanks.
Jay and Bri shook hands. Philip walked up.
PHILIP: Jay, can you also ask about the nearest rest stop?
BRI: Wha-Two Jays?

NBC STUDIOS – BURBANK, CALIFORNIA
MARLENA: Well, I must say, I hadn't planned on this.
DIEDRE: Neither had I. Down to business, though. Who are you?
MARLENA: That is a difficult question.
DIEDRE: I have time. My next scene isn't for half an hour.
MARLENA: Well...I'm you.
DIEDRE: No, I'm sorry, but that's impossible. I'm me.
MARLENA: What I mean is, I'm Marlena.
DIEDRE: I don't understand.
MARLENA: I'm the character you play on Days of Our Lives, Dr. Marlena Evans. I've somehow escaped the TV world and ended up in the real world.
DIEDRE: Oh my.
MARLENA: Yes. I can imagine that this is quite a shock.
DIEDRE: Yes. I'm so sorry that you've left the TV world.
MARLENA: Well, when you've been through as much as I have, it's kind of expected.
DIEDRE: I suppose it is, yes.
MARLENA: So, Days is being canceled.
DIEDRE: That's what I've heard.
MARLENA: How do you feel about that?
DIEDRE: Well, to tell the truth, I'm rather sad about it. Days does have a long and rich history, and it seems a shame to end it when the ratings are finally going up again.
MARLENA: How would you feel about joining us?
DIEDRE: Us?
MARLENA: I'm not the only fictional character here. Shawn-Douglas, Belle, J.J., Theresa and Brady came as well. We're trying to find our creators and ask them for more life.
DIEDRE: Well, it can't hurt to try. But, I must warn you about the Creator. He's a bit...
The guard from earlier entered the room.
GUARD: Miss Hall...both of you, he's ready to see you now.
MARLENA: Thank you.
Marlena turned to Diedre.
MARLENA: And thank you.
DIEDRE: My pleasure.
Marlena and Diedre exited the room, as the guard did a double-take.

I can just hear Deidre Hall and Marlena. It sounds like they are the same person in two bodies. LOL

Ooh... can't wait to meet the creator.
