Chapter 3
BOARDROOM, FOUR SEASONS HOTEL
Philip, Shawn-D and Belle met up with J.J., Marlena and Brady.
SHAWN-D: So...we're not real?
MARLENA: That's correct.
PHILIP: Not even me?
MARLENA: No, Philip. Not even you.
PHILIP: Damn.
MARLENA: In a sense, though, a part of us is real, as we are all portrayed by actors.
BELLE: This is too weird for words.
J.J.: So, what's our next step?
BRADY: Why don't we find these guys?
BELLE: What do you mean, Brady?
BRADY: I mean, we track down the actors who play us. I'm sure that they are just as upset about Days being canceled as we are.
SHAWN-D: Not quite. I mean, Days ends, they get a new job. We no longer exist.
BRADY: Yeah, but no Days means no job. It sounds to me like Days being canceled is kind of a last minute thing. I doubt that any of the actors who play us will have had enough time to get a job yet. And even if they have, it sounds like most of these actors got their big break on Days. Why not try to save the thing that got them started?
J.J.: That's a good plan, actually.
BELLE: Yeah, but how would we find them? I mean, do we even know what their names are?
MARLENA: Well, mine is Diedre Hall. I know that because that's what I've been getting called the last few days. The rest of you, it's just a quick Google search away.
Philip got out his phone and typed in something.
PHILIP: Okay, here we go. Let's start with J.J. You're played by a dude named Casey Moss.
J.J.: Nice name.
PHILIP: Shawn, you're played by Jason Cook.
Shawn-D looks at Philip's phone.
SHAWN-D: Wow. That's uncanny.
PHILIP: Belle, you're currently being portrayed by Martha Madison, but to be honest, you look more like a previous actress who played you named Kirsten Storms.
Philip showed Belle a picture comparing the two actresses.
BELLE: Yeah, I'm definitely more Kirsten Storms.
PHILIP: Okay, Brady, you were once played by a guy named Kyle Lowder. Get this, in real life, he was married to the actress who plays Nicole.
BRADY: Whoa.
PHILIP: I know. But, you are currently portrayed by Eric Martsolf, the guy who played Ethan on Passions.
BRADY: Cool!
PHILIP: Theresa's played by a girl named Jen Lilley. Not bad.
J.J.: What about you, Philip?
PHILIP: Well, up until recently, I was played by some guy named John-Paul Lavoisier. I was also portrayed at one point by some dude named Kyle Brandt who looks nothing like me at all.
BELLE: That was when you had to go under deep cover for the ISA and had your face redone.
PHILIP: Oh, yeah. Then I had that “facial reconstruction surgery”, which was really just pulling off a mask.
SHAWN-D: Good times.
PHILIP: But the most popular portrayal of me was done by a dashingly handsome man by the name of Jay Kenneth Johnson.
BELLE: That's really cool. Where are you getting all of this information from?
PHILIP: Oh, I just created an account on a Days of Our Lives fan forum called MyHourglass. They get all of this up-to-date info on the show. Plus, they practically have a shrine devoted to me.
Philip passed his phone around and showed them the world-famous Jayland. Marlena gasped and the others scrolled through the pictures in amazement.
J.J.: How many angles of you are there here, Philip?
PHILIP: Don't know. But, it seems that there's a lot of Jay fans on MyHourglass.
SHAWN-D: So, now that we know who our actors are, how do we find them?
MARLENA: We split up and search for them. Jason, Eric, Diedre, Jen and Casey are still on the show, so they'll be wherever the show's filmed, which is at NBC studios. As for Kirsten and Jay, we'll have to look for those.
PHILIP: We'll have to look for NBC, as well. There's no direct address for the studio.
PHILIP: It appears that Kirsten how plays a character named Maxie on a show called General Hospital. Wherever that's filmed, we'll find her there.
MARLENA: Then, we'll split up. Check all the major cities. I suggest we form teams, although we can go on solo missions, if we choose.
PHILIP: I'm searching for Jay and Kirsten.
SHAWN-D: I'm coming with you.
BELLE: Me too.
MARLENA: I'll find NBC and try to convince the actors who still play us.
J.J.: I'm gonna go searching for other Days actors. Maybe some of the retired actors, or ones who've moved on to other stuff will want to help us.
BRADY: I'm gonna find Theresa, and then we'll join you, J.J.
J.J.: Sounds good. How are you gonna find Theresa, though? Chicago's a huge place?
BRADY: If I know Theresa like I think I do, I know where she'll be.
MARLENA: So, it's all settled, then. I'll give you all a call once I've found NBC Studios.
PHILIP: Sounds good.
They all got in a circle and put their hands in.
J.J.: Let's go.
BRADY: We've got a lot of work to do.
