Something fluffy posted in the Name That Tune thread made me think of this. Do you and your spouse or significant other have a special song? A song that you danced to at your wedding? If you want, tell us why.
Our song is It Had to Be You.
It had to be you, it had to be you I wandered around, and finally found The somebody who Could make me be true Could make me be blue Or even be glad just to be sad just thinking of you Some others I've seen might never be mean Might never be cross or try to be boss But they wouldn't do For nobody else gave me a thrill With all your faults I love you still It had to be you Wonderful you It had to be you

My husband was very fussy about our first song. David Grohl did an acoustic version of Everlong at the radio station during an interview, and we both liked it. He contacted the radio station to see if he could buy it from them for our wedding. They got back to him and gave us a free copy to dance to. Here's the song:

One of our first few dates was to go see Moulin Rouge in the theatre and we both loved it. When we left the movie, hand in hand, he leaned over and kissed my cheek and I knew I'd marry him one day. We danced to "Come What May" because the song meant so much to us. I would add the lyrics but I'm posting from my phone and my thumbs would fall off if I did.

We don't have a truly special song or danced to any one special song at our wedding. We do have this one for some reason I don't remember, we used to sing to each other but only seldom any more:
The music at our wedding was on a MP3 player hooked up to speakers. The whole affair was small & intimate. We didn't have much money because we were about to move to Texas and we needed lots of stuff.

We danced to the song Faithfully by Journey at our wedding reception. We used to listen to Journey and we both really liked the song. I haven't listened to them lately but I just found the CD today.

What a nice thread. Our wedding song was You Look Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. We heard the song on the radio as we were buying a crib for Ava and it was the first song we ever danced to. Then when I went into labour with Ava, it was playing on the radio.

GG, I LOVE that song! We don't really have a song. Our wedding songs were Come Away with Me by Norah Jones and Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer, but they were my choices because hubby didn't really pay attention to stuff like that. It's a little unconventional, but the closest thing to 'a song' we have is the musical episode of Scrubs. I knew it was special when we had been arguing and I went to bed early and he came in later to tell me the episode was on. He didn't want me to miss it even though he could have just watched it by himself. How sweet was that?

Our wedding song that we danced to was Thank You For Loving Me by Bon Jovi. We also had a vocalist at the wedding ceremony who sang I Need You by Leanne Rhymes.
