Damn. I was hoping that would just be a rumor. Hope he doesn't get killed off thanks to Clyde's vendetta against JJ.

It says in there that he won't be a victim of the killer but I guess he could get killed by someone else. Maybe it will a very ironic story where something happens to him and the only person who could have saved him is world-renowned surgeon Dr. Daniel Jonas.  I'm personally ready for a break from the guy. |

I'm actually crying about this. It says he will be killed but not by the serial killer. I don't know how much more mourning over fictional characters I can take.

I guess we won't see Parker any more unless he pays a visit to Maggie. I loved the relationship between Daniel and Parker. Shawn Christian appeared to put a lot of effort into working with the little guy who plays Parker. I give Shawn a lot of credit for being a team player and promoting Days at various fan events. I never saw any report that he responded in anger to any negative (sometimes vicious) backlash by some fans. I stopped visiting some fan sites because a few posters took it from criticism of the character to personal attacks on the actor.

Bummer... I liked Nicole and Daniel.
I would hate for him to be killed off. I'd hope that he had potential to come back.

Hopefully he is leaving by his own choice. I like Daniel. I didn't care for the times when he was involved in every single story at once. Sorry heroicmuse. |

Well this just sucks. The guy has been growing on me. I guess this is gonna push Nicole & Eric together. I like Daniel & Nicole much better than Eric and Nicole. Especially after all of this Serena crap.

Some are saying it's just a rumor,not yet published by a reliable source.Personally I like Shawn Christian,but Daniel never quite grew on me.If this is true though,I wish him nothing but success.

It's so ironic that people have been complaining about him for years and now everyone seems to be sad he's leaving. I have nothing against the actor but I do feel the character was over-used and as I said I'm ready for a break. I am suprised they are killing him off. I really liked his relationship with JJ and will hate to see him lose another father-figure. Sorry heroicmuse but don't worry, I'm sure he will go out in very heroic manner and probably be sainted. |

I think the thing that I hate the most is that Nicole has finally found someone that she wants to fully commit to and she's gonna end up losing him. Yes she's wanted to commit to others and yes, Daniel treated her like crap, but his treatment of her hasn't gone the ugliest of routes like some of her other relationships. The character has most definitely been over rated and over used in the past. The JJ aspect is killing me too. Daniel is the only male figure in Salem that has been there for JJ through thick and thin. JJ needs that kind of influence in his life.

Maybe Nicole is the other major character who will be leaving. The article said there would be another major departure.
I am fairly neutral toward Daniel. I no longer actively hate him. I will not miss him though.
I know it's selfish, but this makes me wish that Jay were returning as Philip. I always felt like a big part of the reason he left in 2011 is because there wasn't room for another alpha male with EJ getting 50% the stories on the Dimera side and Daniel/Melanie glomming 50% the stories on the Kiriakis side. That left just crumbs for Philip and he became a minor player in his own storylines.

I hope Nicole doesn't leave. That would be terrible if she left, especially since I'm starting to like her a lot. Hopefully it's not her. Maybe there are other vets that could be potentially leaving, like Caroline or maybe Stefano, Victor or even Will.
But re: Daniel, I am not surprised and I'm relieved his reign of terror is finally over. Now we won't have to deal with him anymore.

I think the other actress that's leaving is Peggy McKay (Caroline). Total speculation. And, Daniel has started to grow on me. He's not forced down our throats as much and has been tolerable. This time 2 yrs ago I'd have had a different reaction. |
