I thought I would start a positive thread since I am very critical of poor DOOL these Days. I wanted to focus on something good for a bit.
Though I am not a Days Lifer (I am a GH girl)...watched the show on and off since 7th grade...I have enjoyed the show very much from 2007 until about Jan - April 2011. For me the show is struggling now...but I am going to try to find some good.
My favorites are:
Melanie - just enjoy the character and the actress
Victor - love his zingers as always
Quinn - he is yummy and I hope they develop him more
The Will and Sonny storyline - fingers crossed that Days will do an adequate job telling this. Right now it is like a bad after school special. But I am still interested.
Nicole - one of my top characters of all time (along with Philip, Kate, Sami (pre-2007) and John) I like that she is getting more than just the "scheming bad girl" story. While I wish she would punch her sister out, I do like seeing a softer side of her.

I'd have to say the best part of Days for me right now is:
1) Watching EJ get what's coming to him
2) Victor's humor
3)The Sonny/Will storyline.Even though Will hasn't quite factored in yet,the character of Sonny is being portrayed realisticly.
4)I can't believe I'm gonna say this,but I'm enjoying Daniel at least this week.He's mad as hell and not gonna take Jennifer's crap anymore.I like that.She's played games with him and frankly I'm sick of it.Crap or get off the pot Jennifer,we all know you're going back to Jack anyway!

I love Nicole. No matter what they give her, Ari Zucker nails it every time. She makes me feel for Nicole, even when I know I shouldn't, like during the baby-switch.
Victor. He gets some of the best lines, his delivery is spot on.
Brady. He's hot. And Eric really has made the character his own. I look forward to progress with his storyline when John comes back, Taylor leaves, and maybe we get some Titan business drama or Kiriakis/Dimera feud going.
Sonny. I am enthralled by him. He lights up every scene he's in. He has fit in with his parents, with Victor very well and I look forward to seeing where the story goes.
I like Chad being a Dimera and all the potential that comes from that. Casey has really stepped up with this story and he fits well as a Dimera. I can easily see him become a 'gray' character and I can picture his struggles with good vs. evil a lot better than I can buy EJ doing the same thing.

I like all things Kiriakis.
I like that we haven't seen Sami or Rafe this week.
I love Victor. I love Maggie. I love Victor and Maggie.
I want more Brady.
I love Sonny and I don't care what his sexual preferences are. He is a compelling character and a terrific actor.
I love Chloe.
I like Vivian in moderation. I find Gus charming.
I like Nicole a lot, but I would like to see her lean more toward the Kiriakis side of the house than the Dimera side.
I like Jennifer, but find her a bit gnat-like lately.
I enjoy Bo and Hope, but not when they are doing police work. I don't find them at all convincing as cops.

slyn11I am much more of a GH girl too since I grew up watching that show with both my parents. It is nice to know that someone else on this board watches GH also. I didn't start getting into Days until the last blast teenagers appeared and I only started watching Days because I was living with my brother and his wife at the time and she was a big Days watcher so I started watching the show with her. I love a lot of the characters on Days right now except for a few but I am not enjoying too many of the storylines because of the writing being all over the place in them. I love when Days does human interest storylines like the Carly drug addiction, the gay stuff, the whole PPD thing with Chloe and the whole EJ hitting rock bottom stuff but I really wish that the writers would make the storylines more realistic. I hate when a storyline starts out so good and then it falls flat as it progresses. At least with the Carly stuff right now we are literally getting to see on screen what she is going through with her drug addiction and hopefully we will get to see some of her recovery. I am starting to like seeing that the Kiriakis family is starting to be featured more since they are my favorite family and I am really intrigued with this whole Sonny stuff and can't wait to see the story unfold since I really like the character of Sonny and the actor Freddie Smith who plays him. I am really happy that Safe has been put on the backburner these past few months and Sami is not being shoved down our throats as much as she was all of last year. I know I am in the minority on this board but I am also glad that Melanie isn't on so much either and she isn't the center of what seems like every storyline on this show. It is easier for me to tolerate Melanie in smaller doses since she will never be one of my favorite characters. I think my favorite thing is knowing that Phloe now share a child together and their is always hope that with the new writers that Chloe will get a shot at redemption and get a chance to finally find some happiness with Parker and maybe even Philip. I am glad that we are finally getting a chance to see Vivian getting her revenge on Carly for wrecking havoc in so many people's lives. I enjoy watching any scenes with Vivian and Gus together. I love the fact that Bope are together again and working through their issues especially since I was never a fan of Carbo. I love seeing more of Bope on the screen. Nicole is my favorite female character and I love anytime I get to see Ari Zucker on screen but I do want to see her and Brady work through their issues with each other and get a chance to be a real couple. I really like watching the transformation that EJ is going through right now realizing that he needs to put the needs of his children first. I love watching any scene where Victor interacts with his family and love seeing more of Justin and Adrienne.

Between kpatch and karebr they about summed it up for me. I love Bope, Victor, Brady (he needs a good story and I hope with the reset he gets a fantastic story), Nicole.

Pretty much agree on what has been said already. A little less Taylor & EJ stuff would be ok in my book, even though I do enjoy this despondent EJ.

Brady - Eric Martsolf just melts my butter ;D I love how he has taken the Brady character and made him his own. I wish that they would give him a love interest and it be a truely fresh beginning for romance for him.
Although I know that it won't last, I'm loving that EJ is finally getting some slaps in the face in regards to what he has done and has finally had to see how his actions affect his children when they learn of his behavior.
Johnny - those little guys are just as cute as they can be!!!
Victor & Maggie - seperate or together, these two are just awesome!
Jennifer getting in Carly's face regarding the addiction. I have not cared very much for this storyline but those were some powerful scenes and Jennifer did an excellent job pulling them off.
I like Melanie, but when put with Dario, I just can't take it.
So far I"m liking Sonny too. I have always thought that Freddie Prince Jr was a good actor, just never really given a good chance, but he has really taken this role and made it his own. Kudos to him!
I like knowing that Carly, Dario, and Taylor's days are numbered.
I like Chad. I love how Casey is really showing the emotions Chad is going through in doing what he knows is right and then having to be loyal to a family like the Dimera's. I really loved how he ripped EJ a new one about destroying everything because of his selfishness.

I like Maggie and Victor. They are great together. And Victor's lines are always the best!
I like Abigail and Chad. I would like to see things get a little more interesting between them but for right now I like the young love between the two.
Nicole. Always love Nicole. Doesn't matter what she's doing or who she's in scenes with, she just rocks! Ari Zucker is such a phenominal actress.
The Carly story has finally got interesting this past week or so. I still don't buy the "she's in love with Daniel" bit but I've enjoyed the drama, action, and dialogue lately. I think Crystal, Melissa, and Shawn have done really well in their respective roles.
I'm happy to see more Bope onscreen. I hope they get another story besides playing bumbling cops in this Rafe 2 case but overall it's been nice to see more of them.
ROMAN! We have finally started seeing Roman again and that's a good thing.

I completely agree. LOL I thought I was the only one who didn't think Bope worked as cops very well. My husband snickers every time they are on. Chad as a Dimera is the best thing that happened to that character. I want to see him more attracted to the Dimera lifestyle and have to then make some hard moral choices. My fellow GH girl...I hope the Carly rehab stuff is compelling. I think Crystal Chappelle give some really good performances. And I have always wanted Days to be more realistic. Like on GH - I think Lucky's ongoing battle to keep his sobriety is much more realistically done that Brady's. Lucky's addiction is a part of his character - it is in everything he does, every choice he makes. I don't feel that with Brady. I have always lopved the Kiriakis family...so glad they are getting some good story going. Really all Days would have to do to keep me as a happy viewer is to keep the K family stories and bring back Philip. It is not right without him. The Dimeras have EJ and Chad...the Kiriakis family should have Brady and Philip. It is about balance. |

I will never forgive them for copping out and not making Bo a part of Carly's issues. This in love with Daniel crap is thin and goes against all we have seen her do this past year and 1/2. It also screwed Bope out of a dramatic storyline....dealing with Carly and the aftermath of the affair...and the addiction. I really find it beyond belief that Bo and Hope are back together easy peasy after the year they had. UNREAL
