If the character of Will is leaving Salem I would honestly not shed a tear if Lucas & Sami's son ended up leaving Salem because in all honesty I think we could use a break from Will's character

I'd be fine with a break from Will. I don't see the character being killed off though.

No Sami. No Will. I'd be a happy camper! I've had more than enough of Will for a while. Much like his mother, I could use a break from him too!

Yes I too can use a break from Will a much deserved break but maybe Gabi or even Rafe can take Ari and raise her

I won't shed a tear if Will actually leaves. However, I would be concerned about who's going to take care of Ari if anything happens to Will.

Like Terry said, maybe Gabi will take care of Ari. She might get a commuted sentence. And there's Rafe as well. Lucas and Adrienne?

If Will dies, then (since this is a soap opera and real-life rules don't apply) she might be able to get out early to be with Ari. Then she can eventually leave town with her and start a life away from Salem where she has an actual chance at happiness. Maybe she can go join Sonny wherever he is because the two of them seem to have a genuine, functional friendship (thankfully, Tomlin/Whitesell didn't ruin that too!) and were a pretty good team when it came to caring for Ari. |

Haven't read the article/link, but isn't the Sonny character leaving too? What if they both left together as a couple, to get a fresh start outside the orbit of Paul (and Kate for that matter) and take Arianna Grace with them?

I saw a spoiler for the week of Aug.17 that says Sonny makes a decision about his future that leaves both Will and Paul heartbroken. We know Freddie is leaving. I had hoped for a recast but this leads me to think that the character is leaving too.
As for Will, I don't really want the character killed off but I do not care for Guy Wilson's portrayal of him. I wouldn't mind seeing him replaced. I sure don't care about Will without Sonny. I was really hoping for Sonny and Paul. I wouldn't mind a break from the character but I don't want him killed. Maybe he'll go back to Cali with Sami.
In the comments to the linked article above someone said that the new writers have an anti-gay agenda and that it was their decision to ax Sonny and that they will get rid of the whole storyline. I'm not sure where this person came up with this - if it's fact of just opinion - but I really hope this is not the case. I know they are trying to take Days back to core couples but the Will/Sonny storyline was a progressive step on Days' part and they received a lot of recognition for it. I certainly hope they are not going to take a leap backwards to please some close-minded people.

Freddie announced awhile ago that he wasn't renewing his contract. I doubt it had anything to do with potential future story or lack of it. The majority of the 20 something actors leave after one contract so they can look for new opportunities.
