Once again this show is continuing to be absolutely lame.
I am about to give up on Theresa altogether. If the new writers don't do something about her soon, I might end up stop watching her altogether because this is getting ridiculous.

Once again this show is continuing to be absolutely lame. I am about to give up on Theresa altogether. If the new writers don't do something about her soon, I might end up stop watching her altogether because this is getting ridiculous. This is another potential storyline they could have developed well. They could have shown Theresa genuinely change after losing and then getting her baby back. Brady could have noticed that change and been surprised to discover he had real feelings for her. He could have been the mature one who took his time with Theresa and helped her to reach her true potential. |

twinklingmoon That would be a real nice storyline but at this point I don't believe Brady will ever fall for her. In fact, I'm not sure Theresa is capable of changing at this point. If she does end up losing Tate, she may never get him back and she won't even care. I won't be surprised if she remains a villain under the new writing regime and she is moved out of Brady and Tate's orbit altogether. Maybe she might end up being Ava's new protege or something and possibly turn her back on the entire Brady family.

Oh Gosh! I forgot all about Ava! I am not sure why she's returning and can't say that I am looking forward to that. Wasn't her role essentially minimal and didn't she have a thing with John when he was "I don't know anything about my past but apparently I am Stefano's brother" version of John? I don't think I liked it much that they brought him back from the dead only to make him wind up with Ava instead of Marlena.
As for making Theresa the villainous of the story, well, once again I would say nothing original there. So with Sami gone they need a new Brady Bad girl. I am not on the "I hate Theresa band wagon" yet. I just think she is immature and has done some really dopey things, but not sure if I can remember her doing anything truly irredeemable yet. Through the years they have redeemed characters who committed rape, and I don't think Theresa has done that. Or have I forgotten?
And as for Brady, the guy is a big dope in my opinion. Getting involved with Kristen in the first place was stupid. And then getting mad at Eric for sleeping with Kristen when, let's face it. Eric was essentially date raped with her drugging him. Nice brotherly move there Eric *rolls eyes*.
I hope we get some thoughtful story for Eric/Theresa, one that makes some kind of sense and isn't just some recycled story. Here's to hoping!

Sometimes I wonder why Theresa even wants him in the first place. He's no prize and I don't believe he's worth it. I am positive Theresa hasn't raped anyone but at the current trajectory she's in right now I won't be surprised if she does end up raping someone in the future. That woman is clearly mentally unstable.

That woman is clearly mentally unstable. I agree with you about Brady, I think he's the head case in the show. I can't think of any story he's been involved with that's made a lick of sense. I remember when they made John Stefano's brother (I actually liked that story), I thought to myself, wow, if they play this right, they have a great story line for Brady. He would be Salem's most eligible bachelor. He'd be a Brady/Kiarakis/DiMera, all in one!!!! And it would have been interesting to see him fight EJ for the DiMera holdings and bring them over to the Kiarakis side. He could have been the good guy, but still have an interesting story, somehow maintaining the balance between Victor's dark side and the DiMera cruelty, and the "noble" Brady's, for whom I assume he was named.
Theresa to me is still redeemable, she is manipulative, looks out for herself, but from what I can see, she has not gone anywhere near the insane/cruel lengths that Sami's character went to in the past (based on what I have read online or have heard referenced in the show in the past several years). I do see her character possibly drugging Brady to get him to sleep with her, but at this point I would be seriously annoyed with the writers taking that path. We just went through that whole story with Kristen/Eric. Plus, what would her end game be by drugging Brady and getting him to sleep with her? She already is the mother of his child, and at this point is already bound to Brady forever by that. I am just irritated at Brady for his snide remarks and overall treatment of Theresa. Don't get me wrong, she has to pay penance for bashing John over the head and making Brady think he did it. But Brady has to own up to his part in the story...that man has been given more chances and opportunities to rectify his messed up life, and frankly, he gets bailed out/given a free pass for his nonsense (who else would still get to be a top executive at a company as big as the Kiarakis dynasty while having such a record of being so messed up on drugs/addiction, and getting involved with Kristen DiMera of all people!! He was even mean to Eric afterwards, which to me was just uncouth of Brady, given that Eric was the victim).
Okay, we'll see how this plays out. New writers premier this month I think. Let's see which way the wind blows!

twinklingmoon I understand why Brady's angry at her and he has every right to be, but it's just so heavy-handed and over the top that it just infuriates me and more often than not I end up defending her. And yeah Brady's just as much of a screw-up as Theresa and yet somehow we're supposed to believe that Theresa's the devil incarnate and Brady's somehow innocent, which is dumb. And now that you've put it in perspective, Theresa's crimes isn't really as bad as Sami's but she's getting there. I hope they do not have her drug and rape Brady because that would be disgusting and I might write her off for good after that. Funny thing is, this actually reminds me of how the show tends to treat J.J. and Abby. A lot of the characters act like Abby's this sweet, little princess and yet J.J. is this evil scumbag and that's just awful. And Abby really turns me off because she acts so judgmental and acts like she's better than everybody. And I'm not going to feel sorry for her because she's not rootable and she got herself into the mess she's in right now. This heavy-handedness really bugs me. Hopefully the writing does get better eventually but I don't expect any miracles.
