I'm ready to pass this movie to whoever wants it next. If you're interested, PM me with your mailing address and I'll send it to the first one who responds.
I am really glad I watched the movie with Kazz because it was pretty gruesome and she let me know when it was safe to uncover my eyes.
Jay Kenneth Johnson was adorable. He played an understated version of Philip. He didn't talk a lot, but he smiled a lot, until people started getting hacked up. As has been said before, he was the only reason to watch the movie. I really dislike and avoid horror movies. If you like horror movies, you might have a different opinion. Kazz thought the movie was cute.

I agree with Kazz. The movie is cute. And if you are a horror movie fan (like I am) you will love all the homages it does to famous deaths in other horror movies. The movie is definitely meant to be tongue in cheek. The title Hack has a double meaning. This movie is also free to watch on Hulu or fancast. www.hulu.com/watch/103103/hack | www.imdb.com/title/tt0475289/

As a fan of horror films, I'll add my review to JKJPatch's. I concur with JKJPatch that JKJ was the best part of the movie ... his smile and getting to watch it with his biggest fan was the main highlights for me also. It's not a good movie but if you happen to be a fan of both horror and satire (as I happen to be), it's worth seeing at least once. As JKJPatch noted, I did find it cute. I like horror but I'm not a fan of gore and this movie was gory ... however, the gore was so theatrical that I even found that a bit amusing. The other fun part of this movie is picking out all the references to other movies/literature. One more heads up about this movie, it does have quite a bit of adult language and brief nudity (though unfortunately not involving JKJ).

I am going to try to watch it on my computer. It's an older computer so I will see how well it works.

Sorry to JKJ but the best part of the movie was Juliet Landau. She was amusing as ever. Love that woman!
And I genuinely liked the movie. Didn't scare me a bit, I was cracking up. But I am a HUGE fan of horror and B movies. So I was one happy ladyl

I am a horror buff too Kazz, and don't mind gore, but not just gore the sake of shock...has to be necessary ( SAW ), so I suppose I could deal with some for the sake of seeing Jay. I'll add it to the BB queue...

It's really mild gore for a horror film and definitely a lot of humor... sometimes because of the intentional tongue-in-cheek dialogue (the Mint Dick references were unexpected and therefore some of the funniest to me) and sometimes because it was so over the top and cheesy.

We have a winner ... I mean a taker. Someone has requested the DVD and will be receiving it soon. Sorry, the phone lines are now closed.

I love horror movies too. The gorier the better. I loved all the homage to the old movies. I have seen them all. My sister in law, who is an actress and who also studied film in College made me watch all the classics so I really enjoyed them talking about all the oldies! Glad you are all getting a chance to watch it!

I watched Hack over the weekend. Some parts had me cracking up laughing. Hubby was a fan of the topless gal. There were multiple soap actors in the film and even a winner of one of the seasons of Survivor had a bit part. I enjoyed the satire.
Thanks Kpatch!

I am big into horror films so all the jokes were cracking me up. Plus I love Juliet Landau

Since there is no JKJ nudity in the film, does he at least cuss. I don't think I have ever heard him say a bad word except for maybe the b word as Philip.
