I just said to someone in an email that I wasn't a fan of the Phelle pairing....was I STUPID?!Any pairing that ensures he loses his shirt is a GOOD pairing!  |

I always loved the intense chemistry between Jay and Martha whenever they shared scenes together on the show but unfortunately because I always knew that there was no way that Corday would ever break up his precious Shelle to give Phelle a chance it was hard to get behind them as a couple. Philip and Belle's one love scene had more passion in it than all of Belle and Shawn's love scenes combined. If I wasn't such a huge diehard Phloe fan I could have definitely have gone for a Phelle pairing if Shawn wasn't around to screw things up for them and I knew that there was absolutely no way that I could have my Phloe pairing. Every scene Jay and Martha shared together you could feel the heat between them especially when they were arguing.

Wasn't most of their relationship during the fake (non JKJ) Philip period? That's unfortunate for us and for Martha!

I enjoyed Phelle very very much. The first and only time I ever liked Belle. I knew Philip had no chance in hell though of winning this...which is sad...because well Philip should ALWAYS get the girl.  |

@ fluffy, yes, Belle and Philip's courtship occurred during the Kyle Bland years.
I remember being really excited when I heard Jay was returning as Philip back in 2007. I was really happy to see him "unveiled" and back on the show. But it wasn't until his love scenes with Belle that I sat up and took notice anew. It was Jay's first ever love (sex) scenes as a man, and not a boy, and boy did he make the most of them. Philip and Belle were gorgeous and unbelievably sexy together. I never wanted them to be a couple, but I sure enjoyed watching them.

I didn't realize that Belle was Jay's first adult love scenes.Not that he had any as a kid really.He and Chloe never went farther than making out.

It was like they finally let Philip be a man when he came back in 2007. He got love scenes, to run Titan, to fall in love, to truly see his mom flaws and all, to stand up to his dad, to be a real father, to gain some self esteem...to mature.
Say what you will about the Higley years, but for the most part they were really good for the character of Philip.
