Gay? It really isn't my intention to offend anybody in the gay community, but that was my first reaction to seeing pics of the actor who will be portraying Joey. I could very well change my mind when I see the actor onscreen.
Anybody else get that vibe? Thoughts?

I don't think so. They already have Will, Sonny, and Paul. I think they might focus on something different for variety's sake. I think Dena Higley has other things in mind. Part of me was thinking, given her support of organizations having to do with autism (doesn't she have a child with autism herself?)...she might even have Joey have some sort of learning disability or something along those lines? I don't know though....just a shot in the dark speculation.
Edited to add: I wasn't watching in 2008, but I read that Dena wrote the Carvers' son as having autism. It would be interesting to see Joey go through a learning disability type of problem and how he and his parents' helped him cope with it? It would be a great public awareness sort of storyline and give MaryBeth and Stephen some good stuff to work with....
