YAY! Sookie finally did it? That makes me so happy. I hope it plays out in the show the way it did in the books.

Wow, I didn't think they sucked... No, they weren't filled with nudity or sex as much, but they were filled with action!

I'm not giving anything away yet, but I don't think she did what you think.

My only other friend who watches True Blood said she hated the last few episodes. Mind you she is very anal over how the show plays in relation to the books. She's a bit of a different cat anyways. I usually like the ones she hates LOL

I haven't read the books relating to this season, but I enjoyed the episode. There were a couple of good shockers. Definitely left you in a cliffhanger.

I liked the episodes too. They are almost completely off track from the books at this point but I still like the story the show is telling too.... at least most of the time.

I finally finished True Blood last night. I have a lot to say so I am going to say first: IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET AND DON'T WANT TO READ SPOILERS DONT READ ANY FURTHER!
I LOVE Jesus and Lafayette. They are one of my favorite parts of the show. When I saw that they killed him I almost turned the TV off. I am very, very angry about this. I can't even put into words how mad I am that they had Layfayette/Marnie kill him.
These episodes were so far off from the books it was unreal. I liked that Sookie got a bit of advice from her Gran too. I thought they should have had them hug or touch or something as it was so emotional for Sookie.
Loved that she actually killed Debbie and the whole shooting her was true to the books. But I am so again, very, very angry with how it went down! Eric was supposed to be the one to take the bullet for Sookie. NOT Tara. That was just LAME. I am so mad. I also HATE that he remembers everything from what happened when he lost his memory. He is supposed to not remember what happens and he keeps bugging Sookie about it. He gets rid of Debbie's body for her and once he regains back his memory, he doesn't remember anything about it. So Sookie's secret is safe with Sookie. It was supposed to be a thing between the two of them. I was big time let down because of it. I know that the actress who plays Tara has signed on for Season 5 so she is coming back in some way shape or form. My guess is maybe the bullet just grazed the side of her head. She sure did a flip there in the kitchen. It was quite interesting to see!
I have to say that I LOVED Jessica and Jason in the last 3 episodes that I watched. It's a side of Jason we haven't really seen before and I am enjoying it immensley. I like seeing his struggles about Hoyt. I am happy he told Hoyt. He deserved a good smack in the face for that one but IMO he went a little over board with the kicking.
LOVED all the Terry and Andy stuff. I thought it was fun to watch. Loevd how they were fighting struggling on the ground...just like two little boys LOL I like Terry a lot. I HATED Rene showing up in the end and warning Arlene against his past. That kind of upset me. I don't want TPTB to create turmoil for them. I like them as they are. As supporting characters.
I really enjoyed Andy talking to Holly at the end of it too. I thought it was really cute how he said he was lonely and that he could be good to someone. That he is off the drugs and. I also liked that she told him she needed a hug. I thought it was very sweet. I like this Andy.
Enough of my ranting. LOL Anyone else have any opinions?

^^ ITA with everything you said. The Andy and Holly scenes were one of the main highlights of the whole season for me; the scenes you described melted my cold, dark, little heart. I love the things that HBO adds to the stories, like giving us new characters like Jesus and more about supporting ones like Terry, Andy, Holly, Tara, etc. than the books and I even like the way they change some of the characters for the better like Jason and Arlene, but I HATE, HATE, HATE the way they completely screw up the best parts of the books like what they did to the Sookie/Eric/Debbie story. That was one of my most favorite parts of the entire book series and the way HBO rewrote was a terrible let down. I think the good fairies are fighting against the bad fairies at the studio because the stuff HBO gets right, they really get right, but the things they get wrong, they get really, really wrong.

I feel the exact same way. I really like that they kept Lafayette as a character rather then killing him off like they did in the first book. With respect to Tara, I hate how she is always played the victim on the show. Yes, she is a victim in the books as well but she has more of a story. She owns a business in a mall that Bill owns, etc. In the show, I don't think she even has a job anymore, does she? That was lame too. She was never a bartender at Merlotte's.
I like that they have de-SORASed (for lack of a better term) Terry as I believe he is in his 50's-60's or so in the books. I like that he and Arlene are together. I didn't like that they made Andy a V addict either. He was not like that in the books. Jason was never a sheriff either. But I do like that they gave him that in the show. He is not as big of a jerk as he is on the show. I really enjoy Jessica as well. I would have liked for her to be in the books.
One thing I forgot to mention is that while I felt terrible that Tommy died, I was also happy about it as his character never did anything for me. He does not exist in the books and was just a waste of airtime IMO. Also, after everything that happened when he and Sam went through, I thought it was a little lame to have Sam get that emotional. I do understand that he was upset and that Tommy did suffer but it was little too much for me. I was happy to see Alcide take part in killing Marcus as he was a total jerk. I didn't like him at all. Gave him something outside of Sookie. I wonder if they are going to have the battle for the packmaster like they did in the books? That was interesting. I am still hoping they bring in Quinn. I became a big fan of Quinn after reading the books. I cannot wait to meet the were-tiger. Meow! LOL

See now, I haven't read any of the books so I can't bash any of it.. Again, the show is only based on the books, not exactly like them... I enjoyed the show and left me wanting more... My only complaint is Sookie realizing she still also loves Bill. I want her to only love Eric, (but I'll take Alcide if they don't go that route). I felt so bad for Lafayette. I hope he can get over this or maybe what happened to Tara will help that.

Jesus is not a part of the books. So in that aspect I didn't like it anyway because he and Lafayette are two of my favorites. I didn't like Sookie realizing she still loves Bill either. They are not together in the books and don't get back together. I wish they stayed true to the books that way. That was lame for me. I wouldn't mind the Alcide route either. But he turned into a douche bag in the books. I hope they don't go that route on the show cause I like him a lot.
Personally, I think the Eric version of events was much better written then HBO's take on it and having Tara as the victim. Again.
I cannot wait for next season to see the fallout of events.
Oh and I totally forgot to add that I LOVED Eric and Bill killing Nan Flanagan and her minions. LOL That went down oh so well! I wasn't expecting that at all and enjoyed it so much! LOVED it.
