It will be interesting to see Jack again in any type of capacity!

I don't trust Twitter unless it's verified elsewhere, which so far I haven't found. There's been a rumor going around about Matthew Ashford for awhile--where did you read that jayssweetgirl? Ummm one of my friends does one of his websites and she got it straight from his mouth. No one says you have to believe me I don't think heroicmuse was saying you're lying or unbelievable. It doesn't sound that way at all to me. It's only natural to want a source for major info like that. Jack returning rumors are constantly circulated. Lately it's been a weekly thing since Matt Ashford's appearance at a TV event a few weeks ago. And Daniel leaving Salem is probably the greatest wish of a huge segment of viewers. Given that Daniel been the man crush of the entire DOOL executive team, writing team, and Ken Corday ... I can't let myself get excited or hopeful. I actually don't mind Daniel. He's just too much. He doesn't need to be the man all women want, the hero, the father of the year, the greatest son ever, the solver of all mysteries, the rescuer, etc. If he would stop verbally abusing Nicole and slamming doors in her face, I'd like him a lot more and want him to stay! I don't care how they write a Jack return. I just want him back!

I agree unavitasegreta. We always like to know the source of big news. I like Daniel fine but I don't need him to be involved in almost every storyline.

I like Daniel fine but I don't need him to be involved in almost every storyline. Exactly! I think the only story that didn't involve him last year was EJ/Sami. (That's not a joke, btw. I'm serious - I think he was somehow in all other stories.) I don't want him to go, if the new writers could just reduce his weekly appearances - or maybe end Tomlin/Whitesell's repetitive, pointless scenes habit. But I do know there'd be a lot of joy if Daniel left Salem. I'm not sure I've ever seen so much hate for one character on message boards. It's sad because SC even seems to realize Daniel is over-utilized. He's quite polite and respectful in interviews when people bring up the disdain for Daniel.

What I object to, besides out of character writing, is that the cops are useless because Daniel, and Brady, and everyone else too but mainly those two, are busy doing their jobs for them. I'd like to see the cops at least try to do something.
I like Daniel and I think they could do a story about his compulsive need to help absolutely everybody, but I do agree he's way overused.

jayssweetgirl I wasn't accusing you of lying; sorry if I came across that way. As unavitasegreta said, I was just curious about the source.

unavitasegreta, I think this is her last month on air. I think she will get to play a martyr. She will leave because she feels that her presence distracts Brady from his son and he needs to give his son all of his attention. She will be made out to be self-sacrificing and doing the right thing for the love of Brady and his child. Then they can erect that statue in her honor. Sainthood may be in her future too. Agree 100%.

i could definitely use a break from Daniel. He has just been on too much and been given too much importance these past few years. With all of the other returns being talked about though it might make sense. His absence would finally leave some time for other characters.

I would love to see Jack back in any form. If Dr Dan leaves I might just get my Thorn Birds ending.

Everyone seems to feel about Daniel the way I feel about Marlena. For years and years (and years) she was in every story and on the screen all the time. I even read an article that in the early days Mickey was interested in her. Finally she was gone ---- and then she came back.

I suppose the difference for me is that Marlena was already on the show when I started watching in 84. When Daniel and Melanie arrived in Salem I felt like they took over the show and pushed aside the characters I wanted to see.

The ONLY thing I liked about the serial killer storyline was that Marlena was the killer, lol. I always felt like you did - she was the center of everything darn thing!
